Another issue I have is that every time I sing at a place that sets up for a karaoke night, my voice is soooooo loud that the equipment sometimes can't handle it and I would see the hosts scrambling over to readjust the speakers and/or turn down the sound. The last time that happened was at Villains in Canada. I figured after 4 strikes, I was out.

We get a good handful of people from Michigan each month. I'd recommend the tunnel though. Once through the tunnel someone could park at the river and walk to the event in 5 minutes if they wanted to

Hi there! I met a few folks at the Pop Up Goth Night memorial event for Troy last Friday. Sadly I did not know Troy, but I saw the event on Facebook and wanted to support the fundraiser. I’m still trying to figure out this website. I am a 40+ goth living in Westland. I’m married and have a wonderful little girl. I enjoy sewing, gardening, rock & mineral collecting, camping, hiking and dancing to dark music. I spend most of my time on the dance floor when I go to goth bars. I am a semi-regular at Small’s these days. I would love to get more involved in meet ups outside of the goth bar, such as picnics, museum visits, going to the movies, etc.

That place was awesome! Omg I just realized everytime I do karaoke they always mess with the settings but that's because I'm too quiet. If I hold a microphone anything like I do a camera I totally get why🤣

2 Tips to get over the nerves quickly: 1. Start off with a group song 2. Start of with a stupid song that no one would expect anyone to sing well. Rock Lobster used to be a good go-to to meet both criteria.

I'm glad you were able to move past things and have a relationship with your mother. I tried to with my mother. I recognize she is a product of her trauma, which led to her plethora of problems, but she never should have been a parent. She never took responsibility for things she did, things she allowed to happen to me. I can't look past those things. I haven't spoken to her or my stepfather for over 6 years. She's 69, and he's 78. I know they aren't going to be around much longer. It's an odd feeling.
