This was in response to a warning I received for doing what I thought was the most honorable course of action.

I'm also not saying I will not discuss somebody's issues with an other privately. We all have and will continue to do so.

From what I've gathered, the mods have been listening to some complaints about the more controversial posts that have come up in the last couple of weeks but do not have the power to do much and the people who do have the power have bigger issues going on right now (i.e. health issues).

Personal Arguments - Heated personal relationship arguments and other very private personal "fighting" between individual posters should be taken off the board into email, IM or otherwise.

Blatant Personal Attacks - Name calling, threatening or other attacks directly on another poster or non-poster. "Direct Insults" If someone calls another poster an "asshole" or some such, and its not clear they were teasing, that's a fairly clear, obvious break of the DGN rules and they need to be talked to and/or dealt with in one way or another.

i'm not sure how much more clear these could be, honestly... private messages need to stay private, and name calling/cussing out on the board is unacceptable.

Ya know... rules aside, I think Vater has a right to call someone out if he feels that he was unjustly messaged by said person. From what I've gleaned, he didn't deserve any of what was said, and was pretty much victimized by the whole ordeal. Calling someone "stupid" in a pm or on a public forum is pretty uncivil behavior, even when you may be receiving equally uncivil behavior from people who should know better.

That said...

I've been watching some pretty nasty stuff go on around here lately. And frankly, I think that more people are to blame than the member who has been most heatedly in question here. I've watched some people who I have major respect for say some pretty lame things. I think a LOT of people are just plain overeacting.

I mean... seriously people, lighten the fuck up! Stop trying to make each other uncomfortable! It's fucking annoying!

I think you may want to re-remember what actually happened.

#1. You wrote a PM to me that not only was insulting to me but to another member.

#2. I responded to it publicly after truncating it.

That would mean that no "ensuing conversation" took place. Frankly the conversation after the altercation became civil.

And tone had nothing to do with it. I can only interpret tone if you're typing in all caps.
