Where we come from...

but at that point, to god, the particle would have "exploded" and become everything else in the universe as well, right!?

(edited to add...)

and at that point, both "god" and the "particle" would see each other as everything else, which would make both god, and the particle which exploded into the rest of our known universe, essentially equal/the same, which would mean that everything that exists is god, yes!?

you two have moved far beyond my grasp but let me add that God does refer to himself both in singular and plural terms, as do some of the descriptives used to identify him......

YDING DING DING

WE HAVE A WINNER!!!!!

OK. But God or god?

for me, steven, i guess i'm not so much debating the existence of "god" or whatever you choose to call it - my issue comes in people insisting on a separation between them and deity. to quote a favorite band, "we are stardust", and according to the previous discussion, "stardust", too, is god. i think separating oneself from one's own divinity is the biggest mistake mankind has ever made. jesus was a special man, but (to me) there is no reason any one of us couldn't be/do the same, if we can become properly enlightened.

And whats your reasoning for saying Anti-Realism is bollucks?

Posted

Because Einstein said it so it MUST be right.

Well, ok, he didn't say it in so many words, but it would be really funny if he had. Y'know, in that funny accent.

But yeah. Any philosophy that starts with "Reality isn't real" is pretty much enough for me.

P.S. There's a lot more intelligent, anti-realist stuff on this thread you COULD be paying attention to. ;)

I REALLY like where you're going with this. Legitimizing all the world's religions in one fell swoop.

Well, most of them.

i think it was gandhi who said, (paraphrased)

"what matter, the path we take, if we all arrive at the same destination."

Then as an agnostic, am I denying myself salvation that everyone spiritual is entitled to? Or is my method just as valid?

As for God or No God....

We are part of the Universe. The Universe and God are separate and the same.. having spawned from the same original probability wave. We are all part of God and God is part of Us... yet... All and nothing... Everywhere and Nowhere at the same time… possibility tempered with probability.

BTW... Einstien was a Realist. Thanks for showing me that you didn't read the article I posted. And um.. your the only one saying Anti-Realism is bullocks.

Posted

No, I DID read the article. Einstein was a Realist. I also am a Realist. Anti-realism is bollocks.

Posted

OK... Prove me to that your real.

Posted

You do realize that website you linked to is OVERWHELMINGLY pro-realist?

Perhaps you should read it.

I didn't say either way. I just said it explained what it was. Which it does.

You don't have to beleive in it. You don't have to believe anything. Which, from things you have said, you don't. Thats cool by me. It's you life. Waste it away anyway you like.

You know.. a good waste of life would be to partake in aerial intercourse through a mobile pastry.

I definitely believe that anti-realists exist, as I am a realist and I have observed them. The fact of the matter is that they're all talking bollocks.

And since I believe that they are real and really talking bollocks and they're not committed as to whether their theories are real (obvious reasons), that must mean I'm right.

I don't understand why you keep testing me like this. Didn't you learn from your first bad experience?

Posted

Why are you trying to start an argument? If you have nothing constructive to say... shut up.

Can you join any conversation without causing a fight? is this why your on the board? Just to cause problems?

The rules don't allow me to say what I learned about you.

Then PM it. =P You know it wouldn't bother me.

fuck it. I'm tired of your shit. The mods wont ban you no matter how abusive and disruptive you get so for the first time ever I'm going to ignore someone.

God, I'm so mean.

What we are when we get there is determined by the path we took on the way.

unfortunately I dont really beleive this.

I actually do beleive there is only one way.

This is, perhaps, better suited to another thread.

But I would think having this line of thought would make someone like you very, very sad. Believing that so many of us, your friends, won't be there with you in the afterlife because we find our faith elsewhere.

yet nobody has done the same, nowhere near the same, nowhere near the impact has been made by anyone else, nor is anyone as feircly defended or opposed or persecuted or ....??? . He's really a one-off.

and remember too that this was an uneducated man with no resources, money, or even a place to call home.

And he died in his early 30's. And he only did his teaching gig for a few years.
