Most General Clubs suck

I was wondering if any of you agree with me that most of general clubs and bars like the sport bars, hip-hop clubs, or any other trendy bars or clubs just suck. As much as dislike them at times I still find myself in them. Surrounded by a bunch of the same trendy, Bush-loving, looking for a one-night stand, conformists. Most of these clubs are nothing but fancy meat market.

Do any of you who are with me on this still find yourselves at these places? It saddens me that most clubs can be so creative with good music like the clubs most of us go to. Our clubs are a minority compared to most clubs and it baffles me that it doesn't take a lot of money to be this creative.

I never go to hip hop clubs becuase its not the type of music I like, why would you go to a club with music that isnt in your taste? Sports bars I will go to for the food becuase they usually have GREAT burgurs. as far as "bush loving" people need to get over it, and conformists? arent you conforming by going to those clubs even though you hate them?

Also, do you go to industrial clubs or have yyou only been exposed to the non-goth club scene? You may want to give those a try.

Some bartender on myspace is trying to get all these people to come to his bar so it won't be so boring and dead.

So I went.

There was like 5 people total.

Yah, it sucked.

Location.........it is in the bottom of a bowling alley and I didn't even know it was there, plus they are competing with 3 other bars in the same building....they don't advertise or have specials.....no special nights or anything....

I would be surprised if they stay open.

Is a general club different from like a sargent club?

Well if you want to go to a club where people aren't there for one night stands and is not a meat market, you might want to try City Club. You also will not find any conformity there, everyone there wears a completely different shade of black.

So the first part of your description of City was a joke as well, correct? That place is the worst meat market I know.

Well I have never seen a butcher or a freezer there, so it can't be a meat market and they have chairs so you don't have to have a one night stand. And of course, I am serious.

I find that all bars and clubs do suck and the includes city club its just a matter of the company you keep while you are there that makes it worth the trip

I don't "Club" much......

But the bars I have went to ...

Like

The Post, Red Squared, and O'something in Novi....I found them to be top 20 booty club bars.

If I stood up NEAR the dance floor, I'd get some guy usually of strong ethnic backround that could barely speak english, smelled like Chicken noodle soup framented, and cheap cologne, mix, raping my ass dancing AT me....

Yes AT me...

One guy came up to me and asked me if I wanted to dance...I said no...he started to dance AT me....I was against wall, he was pelvis dancing AT me....as I stood there looking at him like he wa an idiot...which he was....

*raises an eyebrow* Please keep it civil, folks.

I don't go to hip-hop clubs because I don't listen to hip-hop. I don't go to top 40 clubs because I don't listen to top 40. There's nothing inherently wrong with those kinds of clubs, it's just not my preference. Assholes exist at any kind of club and in any kind of clothing. Same thing with good people.

I also hate Country clubs. Too many Happy Day Izod's

...but gameworks is okey.

City Club's pretty bad - all ebm and industrial music; bunch of ebm kids, gravers, black metallers and techno people who all erroneously believe themselves to be "goth"(funny, considering there are rarely any actual goths or deathrockers at CC).

I stick to the bars like 2500, Lager House, or Garden Bowl.

A friend of mine owns the Lager House, it's pretty dirty and I'm not a fan of indie rock or garage rock or whatever flavor of the month is there now.

Garden Bowl is ok, never heard of the other one.

What is wrong with EBM? My grilfriend listens to Current 93, Lycia, Death in June as well as VNV Nation. The "goth" umbrella is just a really large one.

I'm not a graver but I like the music. I'd much rather listen to Apoptygma Berzerk than anything at the Lager House, but that's just my opinion.

Death In June and Current 93 are hardly ebm.

I dig the regular bars for the rock & roll atmosphere, lack of drama, and most of the people I know are there. Now Labyrinth used to have a real goth/deathrock night back when Adam Cadaver and The Brain were spinning. No ebm, no Manson, no NIN. On Saturday nights the real goths and deathrockers would be found down there. Those were the days.

BTW, Lager's got a kick-ass jukebox!

meh ill probally get bashed for this but i think the whole non comformist thing is a bunch of bullshit

lets face it if you were a non comformist you would be goth and not go to city club because you supossed to go there if youre goth
