looks like I'm on a roll.

ok, so here's my deal.

my house, sits in the middle of a big (big) ass lot.

my push mopwer, just died tonight. the funeral is this weekend.

so I need a real mower.

One you ride.

it dont need to be pretty, in fact ugly suits me fine, I just need one that works.

but alas and alack, I have no spare cashola. Because I have bills.

but here's what i CAN offer in exchange:

Electrical work

Painting

Yard work / Haul off (I have a truck)

moving labor

general butt busting duties such as (insert here)

anybody, know anybody, with a mower that needs a home????

I just bought an electric. It probably will not do the job, otherwise I'd offer to loan it on occasion until you find what you really need.

What do I win if I have one?

Hey. If you find one, can we have a party at your house and mow your lawn drunk? Those things are great fun when intoxicated.

I want a 220 plug in my kitchen so I can get an electric stove sometime.

But I'm living in a rental.

And the frame of our front door needs repairing 'cause we locked our keys in the house one day and Jon destroyed the frame busting in the door.

And there's still a hole that needs patching in the ceiling of the kitchen below where the bathtub leaked for the first month we lived here.

And I could think of a few more things.

But we don't have a riding mower. But Jon picks up and works on push mowers practically for fun. We've never bought a mower, and usually sell the ones Jon picks up and refurbishes for $80 to $300.

If you wanted to at least go with a push mower for now until you could find a riding mower, perhaps we can deal. But another problem I've got is this is a rental. Frankly, I don't think the landlords would care if I had a 220 plug installed. But who knows?

I was going to ask you the same thing.

Can you do the 220 plug? Honestly, I'd be willing to give you the mower for free. But if we both can get something out of this, why not?

If you can do the 220 plug, I couldn't care less about the rest.

Lemme know, and I'll talk to Jon about the mower. He doesn't have any on hand right now, and it would require some curbside shopping & luck.

Jon: "Is he a licensed electrician?"

Camille: "I have no idea."

Jon: "No offense to him, as I'd love it if he could do it, but if he's not licensed, we can't have him work on something we're renting."

Camille: "You're right. I'll ask him."

Well? :wink

He's totally willing to work you up a nice mower. But if you aren't licensed, we can just give it to you free of charge or obligation.

Gotta fix that doorframe, but he wants to do it this weekend. So there's really nothing else we'd need from you.

s'ok.

no I'm not liscensed. I'e always worked for other companies, never my own.

I understand your limitation there because of the rental issue. ANd thats ok. In theory it should be pretty easy to install a 220 plug. You just need available amperage in your power panel, and you dedicate a couple of 120 volt circuits and a ground for the 220. everythign you need should be at Home Depot.

'sno biggie.

We'll keep our eyes out for a fixable push mower on the curb next week.

If we come across something, I'll let you know. =)

Steven... Lawn mowing party is what you need. If I were closer I'd be over with my pushmower tonight to help out...

Come on people!!! Who can show up to mow a patch?

Try Freecycle Might get lucky. It's a website that people use to get rid of things for free or close to it.
