For the past few days, DGN has been marking a bunch of topics unread that I know I've read and there aren't any new posts in that thread either. I try clicking on "Mark this forum read" and that doesn't work. I even go down to the bottom of the main page and click on "Mark all forums read" and that still doesn't work. A whole bunch of topics still have purple icons telling me I haven't read them yet.

Anyone else having this problem? Anyone know how to fix this problem?

It's not a problem. It's a "feature".

Posted

Well that feature sucks.. I'm having the same issue

I'll put your questions to Jarod. He's more technical than I am.

Happening to me also. Dangit, quit it board!

Posted

I haven't gotten to that problem yet.

My problem is I have to relog in, A LOT.

It's driving me crazy.

Well crazier.

I notice the web address directs to http://detroitgothic.ipbhost.com/ now. Maybe all the malfunctions have something to do with the hosting expiring and the board being down?

I am having the same problem, and the login problem. Annoying as hell.

This is a longstanding issue with the custom DGN skin Troy created.

Except I've never had this problem until recently. I've also been able to view pictures in Firefox without getting jumbled crap until fairly recently too. Makes me wonder what's changed and if it can get changed back.

I've never ever had these problems until this month either.

I beleive it has to do with cookies. See.. the read/not read thing is controlled with a cookie. That cookie is for DetroitGothic.net... when you make the threads read.. your just chainging flags within the cookie... the cookie is working.. but the site it's for does nto exists... so to speak...

I had never had issues with this until just a few days ago. Then again, a whole lot of weird stuff is happening lately.....

Posted

Since the board went down, I also can't log in PERIOD using AOL's browser. It allows me to put in my ID and password, brings up the window saying "logging in Fierce Critter" but then goes back to the main screen with me not logged in.

I just bring up MSIE standalone now and log in there. But I still have to relog in every time now.

You can say that again.

Oh if only I could find a woman who went down as easily as these boards.

This 👆 definitely goes with what I said in my other post - getting old sucks. Seems like *everything* takes longer and takes more energy out of me than it used to. Really need to work on my diet and exercise, I've found the older I get, the more important those things have really become...

Well we were supposed to leave last night, but life has a way of making plans for you. I'm about to get up and get ready to go on our vacation. Had and still have a lot to do.  Not easy to just up and leave a ranch with a lot of animals and things that need taken care of. We even have people here to watch and tend things while we're gone, but still.   I had to change the radiator in my car before we leave - got that done last night. Took a lot more out of me than I thought it would, so by the time I finished I had little energy for anything else. Today I just have a couple more quick things to do on the car, like cleaning it and packing stuff. Couple of minor things to do around the ranch today, as well.   I figure we should be on the road this evening sometime. I'm looking forward to it. We're going to see the wife's side of the family, people I actually like,  in Vegas and AZ. Should only be gone for a few days, maybe a week. Going to the Grand Canyon and Lake Mead and all kinds of stuff in between, so I'm pretty stoked. I LOVE the Southwest.   Wish me luck that my car survives the desert! (Hence new radiator) 🤠👍

Sometimes sleep can be a scary thing.  I passed out so hard at 4:54pm today.  Yesterday wiped me out with rentals, appointments and helping a lost dog get back home.  Fortunately, I found him on Facebook and contacted the owners and he was picked up before nightfall.  But I think I totally overdid it and paid for it today in the middle of handling business.  Thankfully it was some work at home stuff.   I definitely do not like being that kind of tired.  It's like the World could end and I'd wake up afterwards trying to find out what happened.
