Der Nister Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 My computer keeps going and going. So last week my pc started acting strange, I thought maybe it had a virus so I ran a virus scan and found nothing. Well then I thought maybe it had some kind of trojin or bot or whatever that might be making things go screwy so I checked it with my search and destroy program and it found nothing. At that point I didn't know what to do so I kept ploughing on to see if I could salvage things at least until I got a new computer. And then two or three days ago when I started it up I started smelling smoke and......it wasn't from my cig either. My computer started billowing smoke! So I quickly shut it down and took the case off to see wtf was on fire. :laughing Some mulit colored and tangled wires were smoldering at the bottom of the inside of my computer, don't have a clue what there purpose is or what they're connected to but I got them to stop smoking. Left the damn thing alone for a day and when I came back it started working just fine like nothing ever happened. :doh Crazy shit. :laughing
Der Nister Posted July 8, 2006 Author Posted July 8, 2006 It started smoking right after I started it up, not sure what caused it to do that. It is working now.
Msterbeau Posted July 8, 2006 Posted July 8, 2006 Quite possibly something shorted out... and the fire melted the plastic coating back in place? I'd look and see if there are any exposed wires still.
