I have some curiosity over the photographs thing.

Josaphat's was my mother's church. I've been there several times.

Josaphats is very bright for a gothic church. Light blue, cream and gold are the predominant themes.

And isn't this going to be a picnic? Are people bringing a change of clothes or something?

Just wondering how "gothic" pictures taken there would be under those circumstances... ponders...

Perhaps flex your color creativity a bit and go with a white clothing theme?

Morbid Suicide's birthday is the 21st. Is that close enough to get in on the birthday festivities?

Regardless, he and I will be there.

Oh, no spankings for me. However, Morbid Suicide, Steven, HeadlessGoth, and Marc can have them. I'm generous like that.

Would anyone care if I played a ton of chamber music and gregorian style stuff? Not all night just thrown in here and there.

Churches are NEVER that bright in reality. That's probably a longish exposure on a tripod. We'll do the shots once it gets darker out. Light a few candles if allowed.

I think she meant the color scheme, not the actual lighting. Old St. Mary's in Greektown is painted much the same way, and it's just as bright in there when they have all the lights going.

I dunno how long an exposure you meant, but there are people in the pews and they don't look fuzzy at all...

Some of the churches I was in during my trip to Boston this past spring had light colors indoors but still felt pretty dark even in mid-day with bright sunlight. It'll depend on the windows etc... When it gets dark out we keep the lights out... it'll be fine. The place is so big, my flash isn't going to illuminate shit beyond 10' away. Using candles, a longish exposure and a quick burst of flash (turned way down) should give us the right mood.

A long exposure can be as fast as 1/15th of a second. That's too slow for hand held but fast enough that people sitting in pews won't blur since they hardly move. A normal exposure would be more in the 1/250 - 1/500th of a second range.
