read this article on the origns of the universe - what do you think? i find it fascinating, and would love to discuss the plausibility of it. anyone care to sahre an opinion?

I'm going to have to think on that for a while. Part of me is screaming.... "They are forgetting something!" but for the life of me I'm not seeing it either.

If you have no proof of a 5TH demention than how can you base a theory on it???

mathematical theory, which is how most theoretical physics is initially approached...

Gravity... thats it... One of thier things is that in the current model there should be some fluctuations in the back ground gravity field... in thiers there would be none... but like... We have no way of detecting gravity.. we can see it's affect.. but not it.

I am in the middle of reading "The Universe in A Nutshell" right now infact by Steven Hawkings

ooooo...that sounds like a good book Phee!

I'd love to borrow it from you when you are done!!??

I think this theory is hooplah.

It doesn't make sense to me.

Somebody explain it to me with small words..... :nut

Yes... I find the concepts of Imaginary time and multiple histories pretty awesome...

And now we are on black holes

Sweet...

I like black holes!

They're so Goth

this theory doesn't seem any less plausible than any of the others i've heard about metaphysics and shit. it's pretty cool. but still, where could the original branes have come from? did they just always exist? or did each of them inflate from an infinitesimal point?

:devil They say that a sugarcube size of blackhole matter weighs trillions of tons,I would like to know how they came up with this one.

Consider how much of an atom is empty space, then pretend that all the nuclei for a clump of atoms massing a trillion tons condensed all their empty space.

To put matter into perspective- if there were an atom the size of comerica park, its nucleus would be a marble sitting on the pitcher's mound.
