Guest Game of Chance Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 Right, well what we I'm reffering to when I use the word emo, at the top of this thread, is the household version. I just feel a responsibility to define the parameters of which emo I'm talking about, because you seem to think I'm talking about post-hardcore. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm just looking at the roots of the scene. I'm not going to say all punk rock bands suck just because of bands like NOFX and Blink 182. Its the same thing as generalizing the emo bands.

It's not all the same scene. I don't believe you can make a path from what was sometimes called emo in the 80s & 90s and what is called emo today--as much as those people would like you to, you just can't and nobody is willing to give them that. Anyone can call themselves anything they want, but just because you call yourself something doesn't make it true that you are that something. What I hear is progressive slop that only harkens to pop bands like Herman's Hermits; today's "Emo" has nothing to do with post-hardcore, it's a totally different sound and it's of a totally different vien ethically. I wish Ian MacKay would logg on and call you all kinds of names.

Paper Hearts Posted July 31, 2006 Author Posted July 31, 2006 Ha- Steve, you need to get "in on the killtaker", buddy. You're going to be "sitting in the waiting room" a long time.
Guest Game of Chance Posted July 31, 2006 Posted July 31, 2006 Paul, Shut the Door. I've got a Blueprint and it seems like you're Two Beats Off.
Paper Hearts Posted July 31, 2006 Author Posted July 31, 2006 "you've got a bad mouth", it was only a "suggestion". I'm going to bust "13 songs" over your head, don't make me have to use a "repeater". Oh fuck it. Just "give me the Cure" and forget this whole thread. God, I'm so "Inbetween days".
JaneDead Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 Exactly. I guess Herman's Hermits were Emo too. Oh wait. What about blues? that's emotional too. Blues is Emo, all of it. And country? Yep. all Emo. JS Bach? Wow. we're all Emo kids and we had no idea. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> yeah henry the 8th is quite an emo song. but you are still neglecting to mention emo gangsta rap. and i know you love it. i know you do.
Paper Hearts Posted August 1, 2006 Author Posted August 1, 2006 Yes, I love Emo Gangsta Rap. Humpty Hump was such a tendor yet hardcore man. I also remember back before rap when we only had greasy hippys and all of their emotion filled songs about loveing the one you're with or just sleeping with someone at random, no matter what they're on, because the damn war needed to end.

I'd get into all this again with you... But I wont make the same mistake. I know how much time that wastes, and function is the key. Hey, you ever been to "A Forest"?
Guest Game of Chance Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 There you go again, "push"ing the "fight", on "a night like this".
Paper Hearts Posted August 1, 2006 Author Posted August 1, 2006 I may be guilty of being white, but that's about it. You're screaming at a wall. "think again", it doesn't look that way to me "in my eyes". I'm not your stepping stone. I hope we can look back and laugh at these salad days, but right now "I don't want to hear it", I'm seeing red. LMAO
Guest Game of Chance Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 I've got 35 dollars and a "six pack" to my name. We're gonna have a "TV party" tonight. "Who's got the 10 and a half?"

More Beer! More Beer!
