Have at it

I'll admit it, I'm listening to Morrissey's latest album, right now.

Not me. So it must be the formerly bald Mofo.

I've got a pretty nice collection of CD's, MP3's, DVD's, 45"'s, 33"'s, and even some wax cylinder disks http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phonograph_cylinder Not really any 8 track or cassets though.

I've got a very large music collection catagorized by genre. CD's are catagorized by genre, artist name, and then by year under that.

I have no life and just listen to music all day long. Not sure if that's sad but I have fun and don't care.

i voted for ted because he loves to debate music and music scenes so i am going based off of what i have read from him. he's very *vocal* (even though he is typing, not speaking. what would that be called?) about his knowledge of music and his interest in it.

but if i could pick my top choices it would be ted, scary guy, daniel and steve (even though he was not mentioned on here. steve knows music too ;)) i bet paul knows a thing or two as well but i am not very familiar with what he knows.

He's "wordy"

Posted

I voted for Phee, since he seems to know what I'm talking about the most. =)

yes, he is full of words.

i am wordy too but that is only because i babble. others who are wordy on here actually have something they are trying to say/a point to get across.

as far as music goes, i know next to nothing. i know what i like but i don't know where anything started from, what year it was, who someone is and what band they were in with what other person from that other band who started a band with so and so and then they all were in a band together and they started that such n' such genre of music.... gah. that's too much information. i know what i like and i like it. that's it for me ;)

i appreciate the music geeks though. because i can retain info, i just don't seem to retain music info and sometimes i wish i could/did.

While I appreciate the thought, it does say "music geek". I'll leave that title to one of the aforementioned contestants. :p

I have a wax cylinder recording of Alfred Lord Tennyson reciting The Lady of Shalott, but nothing that plays phonographic records.

Phee.

End of story.

WAIT! Can I vote for Phee's brother?

I don't see my name on the list. Ergo, bowing out.

You just became my new favorite member on the forum.

Only person I know who might be able to beat me is Todd who DJ's at Mephisto's, or Egor as far as obscure goth canadian bands go.

It was a toss up for me....between Paper Hearts & Phee

I chose Phee.

All I know is that you have an insane amount of musical knowledge. I love reading what you have to say.

:devil Of all the years of listening to music from around the world,I still have a pretty good selection of music, even though most is metal,I have some rare CDs,Of course over the years I have listened to a variety of old new wave, mostly underground. For one thing I know Phee is very knowledgable on underground music, and knows more than what I even know.

Psh, I should totally be on that list.

Here, I'll prove it...Arthur Lee died yesterday.

You know, Arthur Lee, from the band Love...you know Love, the first band ever signed to Elektra records, who even Syd Barrett claimed influenced the sounds of early Pink Floyd? Oh, you don't know? Hm, well then.

HA! I OWN YOU!

ps, Morrissey's mother's name is Elizabeth Dwyer, and Siouxsie Sioux's middle name is Janet. What more do you people want?!! Even my freaking avatar is music-related. GOD! :grin

"Wish You Were Here" is in A major. I used it in a dictation lesson with a student a few years ago- he had to figure out the notes in the melody without using an instrument.

then we transposed it to a better key for him to sing.

maybe I should memorize useless trivia so I could impress people more... or maybe I should try to stop caring whether I impress people =P
