Hellion Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 :devil Most of this movie was boring, until they found out later that when the old people died, they were made into wafers. This movie should be remade, but with more actionIMO.

HipsterDufus Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 Generally, I hate remakes, but I think that this could use a good sci-fi noir going over. The original really did not have any intensity (as anyone who watched it knows), but I think that a good director could make it into a pretty intense head-trip. Just my $.02. It probably was a lot more cool back when it first came out...
The Kanuck Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 I have heard of this movie and realy would like to go out and see it, does anyone know where I can rent one or even better, let me borrow it. Promise to return it. :innocent
pomba gira Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 "SOYLENT GREEN IS PEOPLE!!!" Yeah, it was considerably more exciting when it was released... keep in mind movies were not necessarily 1-1/2 hour of fx & action sequences back then, & they weren't paced for today's ADHD-style attention spans, either. A remake could be good tho, with the right director.
BrassFusion Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 I saw it once and really wished I hadn't already known that soylent green was people. I mighta figured it out from the title, though
Slept with ghost Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 I think the movie is a cover up for the fact that people are made out of soylent green and not the other way which the movie says lies its all lies
GreggZero Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 I wish my house came with furniture like on that movie.
Scary Guy Posted August 13, 2006 Posted August 13, 2006 I wanted to show it in 8th-11th grade science class... and make cookies. Never got around to it though. Also great job Crank, you just ruined it for everyone who hadn't seen it.
CandyQuackenbush Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 If they where to re-make Soilent Green, what would Wumpscut have to do?
Scary Guy Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 If they where to re-make Soilent Green, what would Wumpscut have to do? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Probably the soundtrack? Bah, screw that, get Suicide Commando to do it

Funny though, that's a good point about the styles of movies and how they have changed. My attention span is shorter than it used to be I suppose. I recently watched Alien again and I was so disappointed. I loved it the first time but now it looks so cheesy. I think I'm spoiled.
