Dgn Standard, Black, Workfriendly & Upgrade Issues

Dear Friends,

Still working on lots of little problems here and there but the "scary" part of upgrading the board is over. Just have a bewildering pile of small things to workout but most of the "big" stuff is taken care of except adding the ... dum dum dum... spellchecker (shudder)

There are three different "skins" (and all 3 are still works in progress) but you can switch between them via a drop down list in the far bottom left hand corner of the board. Its a pain but i figured people would enjoy more options with the board look.

Please feel free to post any concerns or techical problems you notice here. Ill try to get to them as soon as i can.

Be sure to leave the default skin for compatability issues. Also for the colorblind since I've gotten yelled at because my site was too hard to read.

only thing i miss is the ability to mark an entire forum as "read" - as it is now, if i don't at least open every thread with a new reply, it won't change the forum from "new" to "read"...

I was on yesterday and for awhile it wouldnt let me go into anything. Everything that I clicked on would give me a forbidden page. I came back on later and it was fine. Was this a temporary glitch with the upgrading or was it my computer? If it was a glitch, is it likely to happen again?

In the upper corner of each forum now there is a button that says "forum options" with several different things you can do, one of them is "mark forum as read ..." =)

Probably a delay in some new board files being deleted/changed. When i make a change to the board, if its a critical enough file sometimes the delete-update time lag could cause the board to seem "down" when really its just the time lag of the files replecating from my computer, to the nearest web server then to whatever network of computers it has to replicate across to get to your comp. Im not anticipating that happening as most changes i'd make at this point are smaller ones that wouldnt take the main index offline like that.

Well its part of the standard "new version" of Invision but the colors and some settings were causing various menus to not display properly , that might have been one of them.

oh and which color scheme do you think is best for the average user, that hasnt signed up yet but is thinking about it.

I prefer the the black background with the purple and green print. I was attracted to it when I first signed on.

I would let the Standard remain so but, I'll be using black because it is easier on the eyes.

No, probably that the standard is most compatable.

Black and purple should most definately stay the default.

I was thinking about calling "workfriendly' just "DGN White" but thought it was easier to put the seed in peoples minds "hrmm yeah maybe that'd be better at work/school than the standard one"

DGN White does sound a bit more... descpritive.
