I was watching something about Woodstock on TV. I got to thinking about if I could put together a concert, what bands/artists would I want to attend? They can be living or dead.

Here are the bands/artists that I would pick:

Linkin Park

Disturbed

The Cure

New Order

Marilyn Manson

Rob Zombie

Ozzy Osbourne

So who would perform at your dream concert?

Because of the fact that I like every genre of music I would try to have a concert with one band or singer from each genre as follows: ( or more if I so choose) LOL!

Ozzy Osbourne

Aerosmith

Journey

Styx

Toby Keith

Shania Twain

Billy Ray Cyrus

Garth Brooks

Collin Raye

Those would be two different concerts probably....I know thats not every genre...but thats a list of some of my favorite singers....

Oh, somewhere in there I would have to sneak in Weird AL!!!

Yeah, I saw them at Mephisto's on my birthday. Hell I footed half the bill (which I was later paid back for).

Ok i better stop, it will be a month long music festival if i keep typing.

Location would be the DSO's Orchestra Hall or right in the middle of the main floor of the old Michigan Central Depot cleared out for a concert. The majestic ballroom is pretty sweet (or was). Alternate Locations: Ford Theater the week before they showed Our American Cousin to Mr. Lincoln. Maybe the recreation deck of the Nostromo.

When I posted before, I left out some good bands.

Poison

Queen (although I wish that Freddie Mercury was still around)

Green Day

Five for Fighting ( I have heard some of their songs, and they are really good)

Barenaked Ladies

Savage Garden ( maybe I could get them together to play at my concert)

I really havent been to too many concert places. If I had to choose right now though, I like DTE Energy music theater. Its nice there.

...in the middle of the main floor of the old Michigan Central Depot cleared out for a concert. Alternate Locations: Ford Theater the week before they showed Our American Cousin to Mr. Lincoln.

I begrudgingly took free tickets from an employer about 11 years ago to take my mother to see Neil Diamond at the Palace. I liked some of his music, but felt like that would be an "old ladies' show".

It was one of the best concerts I've ever attended. His stage was a revolving round stage placed smack dab in the center of the arena. The sound was great, the lighting tasteful - it was really an exceptionally enjoyable show. It was his "Christmas in the Round" show, and the centerpiece was this gigantic Christmas tree, if memory serves, made from lights. And he did Christmas songs, too.

I wish I could get access to Michigan Central. I've seen pictures, but I want to be IN there. Did you know they filmed some scenes of the movie "The Island" in Detroit, including a car chase that actually ends up INSIDE there? On the commentary, the director starts to say where they filmed that, then stops and says he wants to keep it his secret as he would like to use it in another film.

Ford's theater - I went to DC with Jon a few years back when he had a job to do on a door at one of the buildings. I was on my own all day to sightsee, and wanted desperately to see Ford's Theater. But Ford's is in the middle of a really cruddy part of town, and has liquor stores on either side of it. I would have gone anyway, but I drove around the block for - HONESTLY - an hour and a half and couldn't find parking, so I had to quit.

hmmm i could go on and on with this one so i will keep it simple since i rarely do ;) and go with 9... maybe 11 bands that come to the top of my head as i go along

the cure

prince

ministry

clutch

led zepplin

the beatles

the rolling stones

the smiths

something rappy so i will throw in a bunch for this one instead of one cuz i really don't know who i would pick: nwa, beastie boys, public enemy, cypress hill, run dmc

something jazzy like john coltrane or something along those lines

something also like frank sinatra or dean martin

i knew i could not just stick to 9

something along the lines of ride, catherine wheel or ladytron

also need something like duran duran or depeche mode. either will do for me.

fleetwood mac

jane's addiction

sloan. did i say sloan already?

kmfdm

smashing pumpkins back when i liked them the most

metallica

nirvana

pantera

the police

pink floyd

U2

the who

i think that is enough... i am getting pretty bored now.

and really i would not want to see all these bands play together. i would want to break it up into several shows but i won't bother to do that now too. ;)
