Lots of variations of lots of things, but none more direct then the "Tommy The Cat" song by Primus.  :cat:

:woot: :woot:

The air is filled with catcalls, no pun intended

it's the name of a Japanese goddess (one of the Shinto kami who wandered over to the Buddhist pantheon & fused with Parvati) who is so sensuously lovely that monks fall in love with her image while they're meditating. Some of them even, er, fondle and caress her statue... and if their passion is deep enough she may take human form and become their wife for a time... & she brings them prosperity & good fortune... unless they're unfaithful to her.

So, if I fondle and caress you the next time we meet, you'll bring me prosperity and good fortune?

Yaay I got my new SN!  Hopefully this one's a bit easier to pronounce/remember.  It's another goddess name, or I should say Orisha name, from the Brazilian Candomble tradition. She's kind ov a badass roadhouse woman who is often found standing in tavern doorways with ambiguous welcoming/warning expression & gestures.  Danger & allure, doesn't get much cooler than that!

Um, no it isn't, and I have to say...arrgh!

I searched your name, because I'm a big fan of all things kichijoten

(I never know when I'll start wearing sarongs or liking the insane clown posse.

Wait, I do.

When I start wearing sarongs, then I will be in a carazy enough state to like ICP. :nut )

and I couldnt find your threads because it was under pomba gira.

Pomba Gira, I don't know if it's dangerous.

It sounds kind of

regal

to me

OK, my name.

First of all, I can't believe no one had taken it.

It's so goth, I submitted it as a joke, because I knew someone else had it.

(Meanwhile I couldnt get a handle as lovetoeatshitandnotdie47 on yahoo, go figure)

I'm so glad it was available.

It represents two things (most of you probably know one of them)

First, the eternal is a song by Joy Division. I want to bring back JD into people's consciousness. What a great band. And honestly, Unknown Pleasures is an all-out fine post-punk album. You really don't have to be goth to like it

(It's when you put on Closer, that you light the long candles and prepare for the doom of humanity.)

My goal is one day, you will never hear this conversation:

" I sooo love, like, gothy music. It's awesome"

"Really, what's you're favorite band. "

"Evanescence. They're like totally deep"

Ask Kichi Gira I am the most un goth looking man on the planet, so when I see two girls with pink hair and lip rings saying this, I lose it.

(That's when I reach for my revolver. That's when it all gets blown away...)

Yes, I'm a fucking snob. Sue me!

The Eternal is one of the ultimate goth songs, because you can't put it on for a fun drive like She's Lost Control (another great song) or Love Will Tear Us Apart.

The Eternal is for the last stage of depression when you don't even have the energy to get the razor.

That and "Atmosphere."

The other reason:

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind aka one of the best movies of all time.

I'm not going to give away the plot, because it's a little complicated, but suffice it to say, you rarely see a film this beautiful.

It's a romantic movie that can cause you to completely lose faith in romance.

Or restore your faith in it.

It talks about the hopelessness of love,

and yet how we can't help ourselves from falling (and failing) in it over and over again.

Because love is so intoxicating and no level of dysfuction can ever keep us away,

and nothing can ever fully make us forget.

It's amazing, it has one of the hottest women in cinema (Kate Winslet, in manic panic-colored hair) and,

unlike Suspiria or The Hunger

you can get it without everyone thinking you're a weirdo because Jim Carrrey's in it.

It also was one of the lower grossing movies last year.

If Eternal, along with Garden State, Closer, and Kinsey (3 more box office bombs)were the only four movies to be released last year, I would've been a very happy man.

Which reminds me:

Fuck Spider-man

Fuck The Passion and really

Fuck DODGEBALL how stupid are we??

Did I tell you I was a movie snob too?

Anyway, that's what prompted my name,

at least thats the short version. :wink

oh, come on, doesn't it at least "read" a tiny bit easier?  No fricatives or short i/j sequences?

...or something...

OR SOMETHING? I offer you my right arm, and I all I get is "or something"

More details please!

Ok, so this is an interesting story.

I go over to her house.

(To all you gossipers.

YES I'm a real person.

Yes I'm a male.

Yes I'm an adult.

Yes my face is so adorable, a thumbpic would not be able to contain my beauty appropriately

---That or Im ridiculously paranoid.)

(Oh and no, we're not dating....something about her being too regal for me, I think)

So, as one of the chosen, most of my brethren were slaughtered in WWII (funny since they were told they were going to camp)

And I'm looking around and see swastikas EVERYWHERE. I swear to g-d, for a moment, I thought the walls were closing in on me.

But I played it cool.

Then my eyes started itching and my throat closed a bit. and I noticed there were cats everywhere too. (I'm allergic)

I thought the next thing that was going to happen, was that I would wake up with a coven of Nazi Satanists (a contradiction I admit) throwing kitty littter on me.

Luckily, I kept my cool, she told me the swastikas were good luck, that she vacuumed most of the hair,

the walls retreated back to their place and I had an enjoyable evening.

I'm sorry though,

as cool as I'd like to be,

whenever I see swastikas,

...I hear trains rumbling through town

My heart beat was still racing for hours afterwards. I'm cool now though. =)

I think I told this story once already on the old board, but here it goes again...

I bought "the hat" in a gothic market I came across in Convington, London back in the early nineties. I had just started up a new Industrial / Gothic radio show on board my ship at the time and had been looking for a DJ name (I had been using DJ Roady as a temp). So I decided to use "The Industrial Cowboy" as my DJing name.

When I got out of the Navy in '95 and got back to Michigan, I thought it was a little silly to introduce myself as The Industrial Cowboy even knowing that is what I had been known as in VA, so I simply told people my name was Dave.

The problem was that there were a lot of Dave's floating around. We would be going out to breakfast post CC and people would invite others. They would be asked "Who's coming?" and the reply would be "... and Dave..." Then the "Which Dave?" would be asked and the reply would always be... "Ya know, the Cowboy Dave..."

Oddly enough, many different groups of people that did not know each other started calling me Cowboy Dave simultaniously. I hated the name, but couldn't shake it. I would call people up and say "hay this is David" and they would say Who? I would say David Cagle and they still wouldn't know, so eventually I would break down and say Cowboy Dave.

Eventually it got to the point where I just gave up and referred to my self as Cowboy Dave...

A decade later and I kind of like the name now and have combined the old and new into: The Industrial Cowboy (Dave), but you will see things like industrialcowboydave on yahoo and I sign stuff as Cowboy Dave the Industrial Cowboy sometimes. Both of those were taken, so when I got my MySpace account I had to use darkcowboydave as industrialcowboydave was too long.

A little lengthy, but that's the story...
