Like my screen name says, my name is Becki. I'm the tattooed bartender at Necto(no, the other tattooed bartender). I know some of you and I have read stuff on the board from time to time. I thought it was time to finally say HI and make my first post. Believe it or not, I'm kinda shy. LOL

BTW-Thank you to anyone that came out on my birhtday! I had a great time and didn't get to the "black-out" point 'til the last 15 minutes of the night.........I'm pretty proud of that considering all those shots.

BECKI!!! *hug* Hey lady good to see you around here!

I had a fabulous time at your birthday! I was telling Meg we should all hang out sometime...she agreed!

Woohoo!! Becki in the house!!

Shy? *Cough bullshit cough*

Welcome.

Hi becki (is that spelt right?)

Welcome to the board. Hopefully you'll find everyone here friendly. We try. *bonks some idiots on the head that might say something snippy*

Oh and im kinda shy too, despite people thinking im some big extrovert. I tend to be very "friendly/social" when im in social situations but it makes me mildly uncomfortable. Most of the time i'd rather just have a one on one conversation. I like meeting new people just the "process" of it is stressful i guessl. Usually getting hammered is the solution to that. Bad bad i know.:unsure:

I have to admit i dont know you personally but i do remember who you are after several people that went to your birthday party described you. I used to live at the necto/nectarine and have fond memories of it. Been awhile though.

Anyhow glad to have you around hopefully we can trick , er talk you into sticking around. If you have any problems/questions with the board feel free to ask. =)

*happy thoughts*

If you live close enough, are old enough (18+ for City Club) and/or are ever in town you may want to check out "DGN Night" on saturdays. (two pinned topics near the top, one for "whos going" the other for "who went last week?".

And Troy calls himself a Spam Master....

Welcome! And happy belated birthday!

Aww....Thanks guys for makin me feel welcome!

Here ya go Troy......

Where from?:

I'm from a small town called Bad Axe. Being surrounded by corn feilds and farms isn't really my thing, so I some how got outta there. I tried art college for a minute in Chicago, found out the hard way that I'm way to poor to live there, and ended up moving to the Ann Arbor area........been here ever since.

Work:

I've been at the Necto for a little over 3 years. I love it there, everynight is a different crowd. However, I for some reason don't do well on Thurs.(college night) or Sat.(top 40) :wink . I work on the nights I can have fun at Goth(mon.), Gay(Fri.), and Techno(Sun.) nights. Sorry about the shameless promotion, I think it's implanted in my skull.

Hobbies:

For hobbies, I spose drawing and painting about sums it up. I'll put some pics up of my stuff, I'd love the input.

Everything else:

I don't have kids or go to school.......umm.....I have an awesome boyfriend that I adore......ughhh....I like tattoos, I have a "couple" :wink ....

I'm kinda drawin a blank, but if ya wanna know anything just ask.

Hi, Becki.

I'm sure I've seen you (as has, I'm sure, everyone else who has gone to Necto on Factory nights) on the few occasions I can actually make the trip down to A2 after work.

Shy seems to be nearly an endemic condition for most of the people around here.

Greetings. :wave

Sadly I only know of one hotel that is walking distance. I think I've seen cheaper rooms online at the Bellagio in Las Vegas! I'm not for sure on exact prices on the rooms, but theres a few cheaper ones about 10 mins. away. I wish I could be of more help. Nothing in downtown AA is cheap.......I think thats why I'm stuck living so close to Ypsi!!

Wow interesting name for a city.

Art school in chicago? Did you go to the art school of the chicago school? I used to have a major chicago fascination... but yeah talk about expensive.

I actually started out in life as a art major, from the time i was about 10 till around 19 i assumed thats what i'd do for a living... I got accepted to CCS but it was too expensive, ended up in A2 for er several years (walking distance from nectar.. er necto.

First time i ever went to the necto i was there on gay night and didn't know it was gay night. Two lesbian girls that hung out with all the time just sort of took me along with them. Took me awhile to realize it was "boys night out" night. It wasn't until one of the girls i was with wispered in my ear "good catch" in reference to a guy i thought i was just chatting with that the light bulb went off in my head. This was when i barely knew anything other than the traditional whitebeard suburbanite view of the world. Man a lot has changed since then.

The necto is actually the place ages ago that i was introducted to goth music. The basement on gay night was "the sludge club" were they had the gothy djing.

The psycho ex girlfriend and i lived in A2 for a long time, have fond memories of the place. I almost feel like i'm "from" ann arbor rather than anywhere else. I'd still be going there (A2 in general as well as the necto) regularly if i didn't have the health issues i do now.

That is were i knew Jinx from in the way way back. Met him while he was doing rocky horror. I lost track of him and he randomly showed up at random goth club and we were like "HOLY SHIT?? YOUR ALIVE?? *hug*" lol

Wow this is turning into a novel. *shuts up*

Anyhow welcome again and Feel free to "promote" necto , thats part of what the board is here for. Just a random fyi. =)

HH: Cheap hotel downtown A2 is non existant unfortunately unless something new poped up in the last couple years. Having a club within walking distance of the homestead... omg that was nuts for the first few years hehe. :drool:beer:

This 👆 definitely goes with what I said in my other post - getting old sucks. Seems like *everything* takes longer and takes more energy out of me than it used to. Really need to work on my diet and exercise, I've found the older I get, the more important those things have really become...

Well we were supposed to leave last night, but life has a way of making plans for you. I'm about to get up and get ready to go on our vacation. Had and still have a lot to do.  Not easy to just up and leave a ranch with a lot of animals and things that need taken care of. We even have people here to watch and tend things while we're gone, but still.   I had to change the radiator in my car before we leave - got that done last night. Took a lot more out of me than I thought it would, so by the time I finished I had little energy for anything else. Today I just have a couple more quick things to do on the car, like cleaning it and packing stuff. Couple of minor things to do around the ranch today, as well.   I figure we should be on the road this evening sometime. I'm looking forward to it. We're going to see the wife's side of the family, people I actually like,  in Vegas and AZ. Should only be gone for a few days, maybe a week. Going to the Grand Canyon and Lake Mead and all kinds of stuff in between, so I'm pretty stoked. I LOVE the Southwest.   Wish me luck that my car survives the desert! (Hence new radiator) 🤠👍

Sometimes sleep can be a scary thing.  I passed out so hard at 4:54pm today.  Yesterday wiped me out with rentals, appointments and helping a lost dog get back home.  Fortunately, I found him on Facebook and contacted the owners and he was picked up before nightfall.  But I think I totally overdid it and paid for it today in the middle of handling business.  Thankfully it was some work at home stuff.   I definitely do not like being that kind of tired.  It's like the World could end and I'd wake up afterwards trying to find out what happened.
