BillyDeath Posted September 13, 2006 Posted September 13, 2006 It seems that everytime my whole family gets together - Aunt's,Uncle's,and else - I feel like it is always contest of who gets to be the center of the spot light. I feel like my social energy is draning, if you all know what that means. They are too mainstream yet kind of obnoxious but way to conformed. Many of them are not into of cutting - edge things. They are becoming more and more of a bunch of square's.
BillyDeath Posted September 14, 2006 Author Posted September 14, 2006 Everything is a competition. They all fucking backstab each other - dumb ole bastards. They are all opinionated about everything - like the thing I mentioned earlier about Myspace. They suck all my social energy away. May I have some advice, please.
Vampyro Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 hey they sell hand guns for a good bargain at pawn shops.. ever consider medicating your brain by injecting a bullet into it?
Onyx Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 Unless they are supporting you there's no reason for you to socialize with them that much if you don't really want to. Why are you? Sounds like it's time to make your own friends and save the family socializing for holidays or special events. If you are living with them or going to school and they are paying your way, then that's another story. If it bothers you that much and they are expecting things of you because you are living in their house, why don't you move out and support yourself? I did. It took me six years to finish school because I was doing it mostly on my own, but it worked out okay.

The holidays and social events are too much. What bothers me is the stuff, like, about myspace and George Carlin. They are trying to stop me from being on Myspace and watching and listening to George Carlin.

How could anyone stop you from being on MySpace or listening to whatever you want? Do you live with them or something? If so, it sounds like you should find a job where you can support yourself if you aren't happy with others telling you what or what not to do.

If so, it sounds like you should find a job where you can support yourself if you aren't happy with others telling you what or what not to do. my guess is that, similar to my family a while back, whenever there's a get-together, they will keep harping on the life-choices he's made, adn do their best to talk him out of "behaving" the way he does. some family members think that they're watching out for you, whenin reality, their driving a wedge between you. my advice? keep respectfully informing them that it's your life, and you'll live it how you please. (of course, if they are supporting you financially, this may end that, so use your best judgement) if you're not on your won, and you're unable to be at this time, you may have to just grin & bear it until you can get out...
Hellion Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 :devil I know all about this BS,too well. There are three relatives in my family I wish would drop dead, because they are nothing but shit talking theives.I do not believe in that ald phrase,"Blood is thicker than water,You can never trust many people, these days.
creatureofthenyte Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 I know it may be easier said then done. But when you gather with them, Listen to what they say to you. It will make them think that you actually give a damn about what they're sayin, even though you apparently don't give a rat's ass. Oh and while you are at these gatherings, drink. alot. Then you will care even less about how annoying they are lol
BillyDeath Posted September 14, 2006 Author Posted September 14, 2006 the energy gets sucked out of me.
Anathema Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 i always feel uncomfortable at family gatherings. like "the odd man out" as well as the "black sheep" of the family. i typically hide out in the corner and watch everyone else.
