Hellion Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 :devil Since I Usuallly crash out right after work, and wake up at 9 pm,then stay up till 4 am to go to work at 5am.I usually feel fine.It works out really good.considering getting out of work at 2:30 pm is awsome, makes it seem like the day goes by faster. Whats your sleep pattern?share.
Amerist Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 I sleep on Arizona time. So, right now I am three hours off of everyone else.
Brenda Starrr Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 I don't know. All I know is that I go to bed and eventually fall asleep, only to stop breathing several times through the night. I have to be tested for sleep apnea. Yay.
pharoh Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 I go to sleep at 11, wake up at 4am, go to work at 6am to 230pm, then come home and take a nap for a couple hours, workout, eat and go to sleep and do it all over again.
The Kanuck Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 Sleep? I really don't have time for sleep. I am up for 8 for school, home by 11. Maybe catch a nap. Grab a bite then off to work for 9-1. By the time I am home I am either dead sleep on my feet but I would still need to do homework. And they say college is a great time >.<
kellygrrrrrl Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 I work the 9-5 shift. So, Either I go out, or go home after work....but I usually fall asleep watching tv next to Mike around 11-12, then wake up around 2:00ish, and then go potty, (TMI) brush the choppers, get a glass of water, set the alarm and fall asleep to wake up around 6:30 7-ish. I LOVE sleep!
EvilEve Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 the place where i work now has stolen my soul... so they make me work nights, and i can't sleep as of recent. so i get off of work around 12-1am, go out for a couple of hours, stay up until about 4am, get 2hrs, of sleep, wake up by 7 to go babysitt, maybe (if i'm lucky) take an hour nap by 11-12pm, then go to work at 3-4pm and stay there until, once again, 12-1am. repeat.
JaneDead Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 i go to bed anywhere between 11 pm and 4/5 am. if i go to bed at 11 i am usually watching tv for awhile so i am not sleeping that early but sometimes i do. then my kids wake me up between 6-7. i wake up a lot in the night too. last night i woke up a handful of times feeling wide awake so i could not go back to sleep too easily. now i feel like i have not slept at all because i am so tired. i never feel like i get a rested sleep. i am always tired
Scary Guy Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 Slaughter did a song about it Really 3 PM to 6 AM usually
Anathema Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 it depends. if it's my deemed day off i stay up the night before until 3-5am then wake up around 12 or 1pm. if it's a work day i goto bed between 10-2am and am up between 8am-10am. i am a terrible insomniac as well.
RosyBlue Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 Heh... what an appropriate topic for me. I can't sleep right now. Ever since I was like 14 I haven't been able to sleep at night. I start to fall asleep in the morning around the time the sun comes up, if allowed to. If I'm allowed to sleep that way I'm fine. Otherwise I just lay there, toss, turn, get up to use the bathroom, turn my light on and read, turn light off, toss, turn, and then around morning fall asleep. Since I haven't been working I fall asleep around 6am, and so long as no one wakes me, I sleep just fine. I used to have a 6am to 2pm job, and I never could sleep at night. No matter how hard I tried. And I thought there must be something wrong with me... and now I have proof (lol). I found a wikipedia article about exactly how I am. I don't know if it's for real, or if I should trust it since it's a wiki, but it made me feel a little better. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delayed_sleep_phase_syndrome
Fierce Critter Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 I'm awake until around 3-4 a.m., if I'm lucky I might fall asleep closer to 2. Some nights I'm up until Jon gets up for work at 6:00, then I go to sleep. I wake up generally between 1:00 and 2:00 p.m. I have depression-related insomnia basically. So my sleep patterns are completely fubared. Basically, there is no real pattern. Lately, I've been using Benadryl as a sedative when I just really, really want to get to sleep at a certain time. Trying not to use it every night so I won't get used to it and have it lose it's effect. That might already be happening. Jon is midway through testing for sleep apnea. He has done a sleep study, and has to go back on the 29th to be fitted for a C-pap machine. Right now, he falls alseep in seconds. Literally. I've timed him. He never takes more than about 28 seconds to start snoring. And his snoring is atrocious. I wear earplugs most nights. More than likely that's ruining my own sleep, which is probably why I'm up all night then sleep once he's gone from the house. We've both been pulling all-nighters lately on the weekends. He goes fishing, and I fuck around on the computer, or watch DVD's. Then we go to sleep together in the morning. This is a pattern we need to change asap.

Have you ever tried melatonin to help you sleep? It's nice because it doesn't give me that groggy feeling in the morning. Well so long as I don't take too much. Does he do better sleeping on his side? I've dealt with someone who has sleep apnea before and he always snored less if he was on his side.
Fierce Critter Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 I haven't tried melatonin, though I've heard about it. I have tried a tea made from valerian root & passion flower, and that can help in non-extreme circumstances. My circumstances now are too extreme, it wouldn't be strong enough. Jon might stop for a while if I make him turn onto his left side, which ends up with him facing the wall. Sometimes he's so bad he still snores in that position. He's really, really bad. I tape recorded him once so he could hear himself. He couldn't believe it. He asked me frankly how in the world I deal with it. He said he'd feel like slugging him if he was me. I've never gone that far. But I have gotten pissed, and even near tears. Hopefully that'll be on its way to fixed after his next sleep study appointment.
JaneDead Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 critter - i am glad jon cares and is getting help for it. that is great. i have told my husband countless times what he does. i video taped him twice. i showed him once and all he did was laugh at it. i mean he DOES look funny but i have tried to tell him it is not actually funny and is terrible for him. he is the same way too- can lay down and fall asleep seconds later, snoring away. and then if i have woken him he will say - i wasn't sleeping. really? you SNORE that loud when you are WIDE awake. AND stop breathing too? i seriously can't even sleep in the same room with him because it is SO bad, i can't sleep and he just won't do anything about it.
Homicidalheathen Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 My insomnia is getting better but I still have a horrible habit of staying up for a couple days then sleeping for 12 hours and I know its bad. My guts usually hurt after. My doc said even guts need a total rest/recharge.
Homicidalheathen Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 Oh and it effects my narcalepsy.....last night I passed out in mid conversation again. It is so embarressing. It makes me look like I am on Heroin or something.
honeymustard02 Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 I go to bed about noon, wake up at 9:30 or there about and go to work till 7am. My days off are about the same but sometimes I go to bed later in the day.
