Hmmm... So if I say that "an aspect of me is goth..."

What does that make me?

TRULY goth?

A poseur?

A part-timer?

Whatever. I yams what I yams.

Damn. Maybe I'm Popeye.

Okay...

Here it goes, many years of shame and internal anguish, only to be let loose on some random messageboard:

When I was in fifth grade my favorite band/groupin the world was Ace of Base and in that same year Coolio had the hit song "Gangsta's Paradise", which I had listened to 87 times (yeah I counted) and learned all of the lyrics to (which, for some odd and disturbing reason, I still know by heart).

*runs and hides in absolute humiliation and shame*

Which is more pathetic...

Liking Ace of Base in 5th grade, or NOT liking Ace of Base till 6th grade because before that you didn't care, but then you forced yourself to memorize all the songs and "like" them in an effort to be more popular?

I grew up in the country of up state New York but didn't like country music, than I moved to MI and after a culture shock found that I hated rap, again I was an outcast. It wasn't until 1995 when an aquantince from my High School brought me to CC as a joke. Little did he know that I would here Anarchy by KMFDM and I would fall in love with a sub-culture.

I think that if it were not for the old days with CC and Achention UK, I would have never really aprichiated life. Music is just music but the friends that I have met have shaped my life into something that I am proud of; weather it be the courage to do what you want regardless of what others think or an example of what not to do, atleast I can say when I die, that I have truly lived.
