Yeah of course a Skyline is going to stomp a lot of cars. With a hefty pricetag, too. My friend's mustang runs mid 8's in a 1/4 mile and for about 45k less than a Skyline.

There's plenty of American muscle that will piss on an 8 second skyline. Like this one for example - http://www.challengevideos.com/video2.php?...+8.390+@+169.02

Right, but notice the Skyline's 8.6 is with a stock body and untubbed wheel wells ... with pretty standardized street radials. I highly doubt that Corvette was running the same. In fact, looking at the video ... I KNOW it's not.

Hearing it run you could tell it wasn't stock lol

That skyline is so far from stock you might as well call it a total conversion. I guess the word stock has changed by definition. From what I remember, stock means original equipment bought from the dealership.

You mean I can walk into my local Nissan dealership and order this particular 8.6 second Skyline? I'm gunna try that this afternoon.

Volume on the laptop was down.

And if you look closely at the vette, the wheel wells are not tubbed out, and the body is "stock". It might have racing slicks on the back, but they're clearly not wide enough to require tubbing. It's a twin-turbo Z06 and probably more "stock" than that skyline.

Easy kids, it's just his opinion, besides, my puddle jumpin civic will mess you all up :p

Fear the civic lol

"It's not my thing.. I prefer muscle cars." - Is an opinion.

"eeww rice burner" is a racist and unwelcomed put-down in a thread where someone is asking if anyone else is in the car club they just joined.

Your Civic needs a supercharger too. :cat:

Good Luck. Gonna cost a hefty amount.

It is not that modified AT ALL from a standard Skyline GTR.

... but as Marc stated ... it's all a matter of opinion.

Oh now I've made a "racist" comment? Ok. Well anyways I'll let you return to your regularly scheduled topic, as the whole domestic/foreign argument can go on for centuries.

I'd just like to point out that "performance" doesn't mean just acceleration. Handling.. braking etc all play a big role too. Lot's of old muscle cars are quick in a strait line, but without a lot of suspension mods... and a serious brake upgrade, they otherwise suck. (Aesthetics excluded)

I think we've wandered way off topic here...

You wanna look me in the eye and tell me "rice" isn't derogatory towards asian/japanese? You may intend it to mean small car .. or whatever... but the fact is the term came about as a something less then complimentary towards one particular race.

Alan.. Don't say "you two" when clearly Soulrev is the one starting (and continuing) all the bullshit in the thread. I've been polite. I haven't resorted to calling him names. I'm really quite tired of the childish name calling that goes on here... and especially the "It's America and I can say whatever I want to whomever I want, however I want to" crap. Grow up. This reactionary vomit is just an excuse to be a lazy (Yes lazy) inconsiderate asshole. And then they wrap themselves in the flag and say that they have freedom of speech... blah blah blah. Save it. Whatever happened to the golden rule? I'll continue this elsewhere...

Mzdeadlyspell - My apologies for my part in your thread getting jacked into oblivion.
