Alergies

My husband, and probably the rest of the family is allergic to pet dander and dust mites.

Now that we can afford it, I'm looking at the allergy relief center web site. I'm confused as to what I should get.

I need some covers of our bedding. They offer Allergy free, allergy proof and then allergy bedding. Does any one know the difference in these?

Thanks for any help you can give.

That's a new one on me. Don't they explain on their own website?

I would have to research that further...I'm not sure about it either. Will you post when you hear something though? I also suffer from severe allergies.

GM, can you give the link for the site that you're considering purchasing bedding from or where you got those terms from? That would help us answer better, I think.

Taking a stab in the dark . . . . . . . As for bedding, typically, I'm allergic to anything with a heavy concentration of down. However, I recently bought a blanket that the shell is 100% polyester and the filler is a minimum of 75% duck down and I don't seem to have issues with it . . . .at least yet. Feather pillows, while I love 'em, I really can't use them unless I'm prepared to be wheezing for a while when I get up. I've never suffered from dust mites that I know of although I do know that a large amount of dust stirred up in a small space is going to make me wheezy, which I just recently discovered.

Let us know what you find out, eh? :)

Odd, I thought I posted here yesterday! Hmmm, I think I started then had to stop, oh well.

here is the specific link I was looking at http://www.theallergyreliefcenter.com/store/bedding.cfm

I was flipping back and forth, reading the descriptions of the items, and I swear they said the same thing!! Some look and see if my eyes are playing tricks on me!!!

I dont have any personal experience with "alergy stuff" but i poked around , in response to your post, and im pretty confident all thoes terms mean the same thing and are just different verbal ways of expressing the "effective alergy protection" of the products. Not that i'd give 2 cents worth of crediblity to anything the products list themselves, i'd want to read an actual review.

This site:

Allergy Consumer Review

http://www.allergyconsumerreview.com/

seems to be pretty good for general product info and allergy info. Along with that site that you listed. Seems like most of these products are fairly "standardized"

Not that it has any direct baring on this post but just as a random FYI that i thought was interesting "hypoallergenic" term you see on some products has no medical meaning, and isnt even listed in most dictionaries, its a term invented by advertizers in the 50's to sell more skincare products. :blushing:

I haven't check the other sites yet. I haven't been on line much today....little bit of time here and there, no big chunck of time.

The site that Troy listed was...interesting. Every link I clicked on took me to allergybuyers.com or something like that. But I did find some interesting info.

Does any one use the allergy bed covers? What brands do you buy?
