Capturing still images from video

Can anyone tell me how to capture frames from various video files with photoshop, nero play thingiemagig, or WMP

I've used a webcam to record a short video. Then play back the video on any program you can freeze-frame. Then, as Jarod suggested, do a printscreen and open in Photoshop.

Worked pretty good for me.
