Fierce Critter Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 Jon bleepy-bleeped me on the cellphone on his way home from work. He was driving down Eureka Road in Taylor, and in the middle of the road, there had been a squirrel, probably a yearling, frozen and terrified, not knowing what to do with the situation it had gotten itself into. For those who don't know, Eureka at that point is 3-lanes each direction, with a center left turn lane, posted speed limit is 45 mph but most people do 50. Jon stops his work van in front of the squirrel, blocking traffic. He gets out, picks up the squirrel by it's midsection, and all traffic stops for him so he can carry the poor thing to the safety of the roadside with trees & bushes. He let it go, and traffic waited for him to get back to his van and drive off. God, I love my husband.

DeadBurgerKing (10) Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 My grandpa delibretly swirves to hit any kind of "rodent"...he feels "one less rodent eating his crops"...that's the one thing I disrespect about him...I try to point out what a futile effort it is...he kills one there's going to be four more there to eat his crops...so what's the point in killing one? He's such a stuborn man though...you can't teach an old dog new tricks, they say...sigh...
