Daevion Posted March 2, 2005 Posted March 2, 2005 I was supposed to go, however, there is no way I can go out on a weekday due to work. Sooo perhaps I'll go to the next one, whenever that is. Weekends are key.
Troy Spiral (13) Posted March 2, 2005 Posted March 2, 2005 Whoa, we made out? You'd think I would remember! .... Lulu was your hair red monday night? i must have REALLY been out of it, or just blind.
Troy Spiral (13) Posted March 2, 2005 Posted March 2, 2005 Hehe, actually no. Really everyone - he does not look anything like the bad guy in "Urban Cowboy"...hehe, sorry, thats who your pics remind me of. Dont listen to her. That AV is great. Would be even better with just the "clear" part and not the positive-negative half. marblez = pishaw! :
Troy Spiral (13) Posted March 2, 2005 Posted March 2, 2005 I am anxiously awaiting an aftermath post :woot: Can't wait to hear about it all - anyone have photos to post? Edited to add: Duh! I need coffee. I just noticed this IS the aftermath post. I want some piccies. I've never been to Necto. Was there dancing? any making out? I want details! hehe. the "juicy hedonistic details" seem to be in a bit more limited supply at the neck in comparison to some other places on average, at least , in the years i've been there , i cant make to much comentary on the last few years since its been called "necto". It seems to be a bit more of a "proper" place than say , CC (for whatever reason) having been to the nec probably ... 400 times(although 300 of thoes were all in a 2 1/2 year span) i think the reason for this is there arent as many "hideout" areas as there might be at a differnt club as well as the more well-off yuppy lavae makeup of the client base. So you dont end up with as much "craziness" although there (at least back in the day) was still plenty. Depending on mood that could be a good thing or a bad thing. Yes there are plenty of exceptions to this, as i learned "how to be a club freak" at the nec , years before i even set foot in city club.
LuluVox Posted March 2, 2005 Posted March 2, 2005 .... Lulu was your hair red monday night? i must have REALLY been out of it, or just blind. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hm. I guess maybe now it falls into the 'brownish red' category, but it's been red for so long, that I still think of myself as a redhead. I guess now I'm just a "reddish" head.
ZhukovCodeslinger Posted March 2, 2005 Posted March 2, 2005 I had a good time and saw quite a few DGNers I had not seen in a while... Less conversations than I wanted... but I love to talk... I do have a couple questions (due to a few beers) 1. how in the hell did I end up explaining the wierd twists of the Lyndon Baines Johnson presidency in casual conversation? 2. Why did Phee steal dans set.... and not tell me about it ahead of time? <smile> 3. Will Troy ever get his Zima? 4. Would we really have gotten away with it, if not for those pesky kids and their (mildy retarded) talking dog ? Thanks all for a great evening. Zhuk
Troy Spiral (13) Posted March 2, 2005 Posted March 2, 2005 Miss lulu: "Reddish head" haha funny. Actually from what i can remember i dont think i saw you in anything approaching decent light so anything save the brightest of colors would have just looked sort of either black or "grey-ish" of one sort or another. Hopefully i didnt bore you to much with my overly medicated ramblings. Zhukov: Zima the ancient aztec god of sexuality, bad judgement , and girly drinks failed to answer my prayers. How you ended up having an LBJ conversation is a true mystery. I dont think i've ever heard a pre 90s president even >mentioned
DarkChylde Posted March 2, 2005 Posted March 2, 2005 I kinda showed up a bit late due to bad snowy roads and witnessing a couple major accidents see'ing the S.U.V's collide with each other. I had somwhut fun, although I got a total diffrent vibe and felt kinda out of place, but I had a good time though, other than that it was kewl ta see some of you dgn'ers there, Troy-it was kewl chatting with ya once again after so many month's (and yes I read your other post) and your welcome, but next time ya dont have to give me money for smokes : Nienna-I still dont believe that you pushed your own car up the hill. Hope things get better for ya. Oh well fuck it, guess I might as well do the list from whut I can remember Marblez-Just for being sexy as usual : Jarod-I saw ya but I didnt get a chance to say hi, sorry about that Mandabroltjulia(er whutever how you spell that)-Good to see your happy/depressed ass again and looks like things are going well for your partner It was a kewl night except when I ran into some chick that I didnt even know and was telling me that for awhile she thought I was a girl and started calling me myranda, then she told me that guys who wear make-up are fag's and I should lose it. Instead of getting mad I just got very sarcastic with her, I told her that if she really think's im gay then I could take her home and litarly prove her wrong lol such a hypocrite person
Troy Spiral (13) Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 ....it was a kewl night except when I ran into some chick that I didnt even know and was telling me that for awhile she thought I was a girl and started calling me myranda, then she told me that guys who wear make-up are fag's and I should lose it. Instead of getting mad I just got very sarcastic with her, I told her that if she really think's im gay then I could take her home and litarly prove her wrong lol such a hypocrite person Je-zus-christ where do these cave-people come from? No matter what someone looks like, i cant imagine making some rude comment like that to a stranger. Im sure in the 2 1/2 ish year run where i used to wear the makeup several times a week some people might have been thinking such things, but i dont think i ever (at least not when i was sober) remember anyone, especially some "random rude person" saying it to my face. Yet i've heard this type of story like 10 times from friends. I think the worst i ever remember getting was "do you worship the devil???" from a random woman in line at borders and a "why do you wear that stuff?" in line at 7/11, both were somewhat matter-of-fact questions and not , at least it didnt seem to be a "wtf you fag??" type tone. Not sure how i'd reply if some random stranger took such a blatant rude tone with me. Hopefully you dont let it bother you to much. Things like that can really stick in your head for a long time if you let them.
sinmantyx Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 But wow, who knew I would get to have an in-depth discussion (& slight debate) about physics *with* a physics prof, and also talking nitty-gritty over wave forms & how we mangle them to create noise, & Merzbow, & the general avant-garde scene geekiness? Thanks, sinmantyx. My pleasure. We have much to discuss...with the evil plans... I'm enjoying your work on the CD. Perhaps this would be up your ally? Sign Coast I didn't realize there were so many electronic musician that were going to be on the CD...I guess I expected more Synth Pop, EBM and Gothic Rock. If there is interest, I wouldn't mind working on an experimental comp in the future.
SomeDanGuy Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 I missed a physics discussion? Dammit! Notify me if there are any more in the future
sinmantyx Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 I missed a physics discussion? Dammit! Notify me if there are any more in the future <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I will!
Troy Spiral (13) Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 Im feeling pretty left out myself. Sin where you hiding , or did that bastard zuk just keep you hidden away from us and wasnt willing to share??
bav Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 Event at the Necto come and gone...will this mark a rebirth in large-scale DGN fleshmeets or merely be a brief flash in the dark? Had a lot of fun, even though I didn't talk to many DGNers aside from the ones I've known for a while. Acute social anxiety wtih fleshmeeting new people kicking back in? I went, I drank, I danced, I bought a CD, I wore a man-bag. High points of the eve: *Showing up early enough to grab a parking spot in front of the doors, thus avoiding not remembering whether I had parked in the structure or not. *Walking in to hear some kick-ass old-school music being played. *Snagging a CD without having pre-ordering. *Phee's great set that had people dancing. *Getting a chance to talk to some people face-to-face instead of over the Net medium. *Seeing Troy show up and having a brief conversation with that elusive beast of a man. *Watching Jinx recover from the poaching. *Seeing a different crowd of people show up to the bar instead of the usual suspects Low points of the eve: *Sudden attack of shyness preventing me from introducing myself and talking to all you crazy cats that I don't know that braved the weather and came out . Meeting new people good! >sigh< *Someone having an athsma attack and not having their inhaler with them, thus requiring emergency services to show up, and another person (myseteriously) gashing his forhead open downstairs. *Being out of condition for long-term dancing. Got a chance to talk to Marblez, Phee, Troy, Jarod, Zhukov, Holliwood, and Jinx. Was briefly introduced to LuluVox and Troy's friend, Don. Recognized TheLordShaper, HyperSomnia, SomeDanGuy, and Nienna. But there was so many more of you out there! I evidently need to practice more on my gothspotting. Glad that those of you that made it out had a good time!
sinmantyx Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 Im feeling pretty left out myself. Sin where you hiding , or did that bastard zuk just keep you hidden away from us and wasnt willing to share?? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sorry...I was incognito...didn't wear the SIN MAN TYX shirt like I said. I was wearing jeans and some foppy black see-through poet-like shirt. If I missed anyone who wanted to meet me, I'm sorry :( I'll have to be more blatant next time. Maybe wear my Pumpkin-King make-up (but that gets you beat up in some places in the world). I guess I'm a bit more shy than I thought. About all I did was walk into the DGN area and say, "Who taking the money?" I did have a chance to talk heavy-fighting and armor with Lord (grrrrr....the person with the helmet....forgot his full name) and the aformentioned physics. I also had an intertesting conversation with Mercy and her friend Angel who were non-DGN'ers.
phee Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 Wow, what a cool night!!! Had alot of fun meeting people and spinning, thank you Dan for letting me! and Wow the CD was well done! It sounds like some others had a good time as well.
ZhukovCodeslinger Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 did that bastard zuk just keep you hidden away from us and wasnt willing to share?? dont blame me, I voted for Kronos...
Troy Spiral (13) Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 Bav , generally , when the push-to-go engine was in full swing (on my part and a few others) we had a minimum of that many folk at CC every saturday , and often, twice as many. Just needs some direction, and regular, consistant dedication, that people know that a few people "will be there come hell or high water" every week, continued "hey are you on DGN? Hey your on DGN? Come down to XYZ , XYZ day we will be there , you can count on it..." and the following slowly builds up. Unfortuately my health issues keep fucking with me to the point were 1. i have a hard time keeping up with DGN promotion in general. and 2. this extends to IRL dragging folks down to a "gathering" im hoping i'll have more energy soon , but i've tried to "get back into it" a few times now and i've overdone it, and its all come to naught, at least twice now. (blew a gasket health wise basicly)
DarkChylde Posted March 4, 2005 Posted March 4, 2005 Naw, I dont let stuff like that ruin my night's, instead of getting upset I get sarcastic with that person Whutz funny is afterwards she started telling me that im a very beautiful person But anyways it was also good ta see my old friends there too (which are non-dgn'ers) and I think I introduced some of y'all ta them
