Homicidalheathen Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 What a sick, rich fuck......I think money just falls into the hands of the wrong peeps at times... Read the whole thing.....disturbing doesn't even cover it. http://vampires.monstrous.com/gilles_de_ra...s_blue_bear.htm
Homicidalheathen Posted October 24, 2006 Author Posted October 24, 2006 This link is good too. http://www.crimelibrary.com/serial_killers...ious/index.html
pomba gira Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 the theory on Gilles de Rais is that he may have had a brain tumor or syphilitic brain lesion/dementia... apparently he went through a noticeable personality change later in life & the gruesome stuff was only one manifestation of it... there are similar theories about the Countess Elisabeth Bathory who is probably the best known of famous deranged murderous nobles. And who wrote that piece? "...pushed the English back to their filthy Channel..."- now there's some clear-headed, objective historical reporting!
Gaf The Horse With Tears Posted October 24, 2006 Posted October 24, 2006 Caligula was thought to have had brain damage from syphalis. He fell ill and was different afterwards... the symptoms described fit syphalis. Now there is one fucked up person.
pomba gira Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 Caligula was thought to have had brain damage from syphalis. He fell ill and was different afterwards... the symptoms described fit syphalis. Now there is one fucked up person. he was from a pretty fucked up family tho... would've been kind'a hard for him to turn out normal. Poor Little Boots... not Speaking of syphilis, didn't someone write a book about its impact on European history? I know there are several books about the historical effects of diseases in general, but I'm remembering this as a whole book specifically about syphilis
Vampyro Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 Add a bit of zest in your homicidal love life! Add syphilis and become a raving lunatic!
Gaf The Horse With Tears Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 Yes... actually there are a few of them... http://www.mellenpress.com/mellenpress.cfm...d=1003&pc=9
pomba gira Posted October 25, 2006 Posted October 25, 2006 Yes... actually there are a few of them... http://www.mellenpress.com/mellenpress.cfm...d=1003&pc=9 wow... looks fascinating (no, really, I love stuff like this)... but at US$119.95 I fear I'll not be perusing it anytime soon. Daaayum.... that's a pricey book! I guess those scholarly types must do all right... guess I should've taken that grant writing class after all.
Homicidalheathen Posted October 26, 2006 Author Posted October 26, 2006 That book does look interesting..... How about one on the dark ages type beliefs about illness and possession? That would be good. Like blessing someone who sneezes so the demons can't get in...... Thinking someone who has seziurs or convulsions is possessed....
