Fierce Critter Posted March 3, 2005 Posted March 3, 2005 I eagerly anticipated renting this one, as I'm a big Tom Hanks fan, and this seemed like such an intersting concept. But I admit, I'm a bit disappointed in it. It was just "o.k.". I expected a lot more creativity with how the character would have handled the situation. There was some, but not what I expected. And though I'm not a big plot critic, some aspects of this one had me thinking, "why did the feel the need to include that?" No extras on the DVD - first one I've rented that lacked ANY. I'd only recommend it if you're a BIG Tom Hanks fan, or if you want to watch something that's pretty harmless, but not particularly interesting, either. Don't bother paying first-run rental prices - wait until it's 5 for $5 or something. I didn't pay anything - it was my free birthday rental. So I don't feel cheated.
Troy Spiral (13) Posted March 4, 2005 Posted March 4, 2005 Watched this one this week too actually. I rated it 3 stars (out of 5) on netflix. It was , i feel a "good movie" and i'd watch it again, but i too was expecting a bit more. Its charming, and generally fun, and very cute, but thats it. I dont think it ever quite hits the "great" mark at any point.
Scary Guy Posted March 4, 2005 Posted March 4, 2005 At the end of it my dad said "they left it open for a sequel" and I had to hold myself back from beating the living hell out of him.
Troy Spiral (13) Posted March 4, 2005 Posted March 4, 2005 Im still waiting for Hamlet 2 (virtually everyone dies at the end) with the way the entertainment industry works, no matter what they do in a storyi think someone says at the end of it "hey im thinkin sequel!"
