I've been in Beaverton, Oregon a few weeks now. I've been kind of hiding, while we get really moved in, unpacked, and all that stuff. I start my new job on monday, so I'm pretty excited about that. I'll be working an "inside sales" position at a company who sells art supplies to retailers. I've had a lot of personal interactions with the people in this company, so I think it'll be a great match. Hooray.

This is where I'll be working.

Now I just need to learn how to wake up early in the morning again. I've been trying to train myself this week... but that's been a disaster.

So just to reiterate - I'm in Oregon, just south of Portland, not in California as previously discussed.

And to boot, I've finally succumbed to the pressure of the whole "myspace" phenom.

I've already started tracking some of you down, but that could take days.

So if you want to add me to your friend list, or just spy on my uneventful oregonian life, you can find me here.

We've had a lot of rain, about eleven inches for the season. The grass is squishy. And people in Oregon are wienies who close their pre-schools when it's twenty degrees at night. Coming from Alaska, where everything closes at NEGATIVE twenty, this is a little odd to me. But I suppose I, too, shall get used to it.

I must admit, it's nice to be in a place where I can drive out of town to find another town mere miles away, instead of hours away. And Portland is right around the corner, so I'll actually be able to see a show or two, musical or theatre wise. Also lots of opportunities to go to galleries and find places to show my work. Now I just need to produce more.

Okay, enough of my blathering right now.

This 👆 definitely goes with what I said in my other post - getting old sucks. Seems like *everything* takes longer and takes more energy out of me than it used to. Really need to work on my diet and exercise, I've found the older I get, the more important those things have really become...

Well we were supposed to leave last night, but life has a way of making plans for you. I'm about to get up and get ready to go on our vacation. Had and still have a lot to do.  Not easy to just up and leave a ranch with a lot of animals and things that need taken care of. We even have people here to watch and tend things while we're gone, but still.   I had to change the radiator in my car before we leave - got that done last night. Took a lot more out of me than I thought it would, so by the time I finished I had little energy for anything else. Today I just have a couple more quick things to do on the car, like cleaning it and packing stuff. Couple of minor things to do around the ranch today, as well.   I figure we should be on the road this evening sometime. I'm looking forward to it. We're going to see the wife's side of the family, people I actually like,  in Vegas and AZ. Should only be gone for a few days, maybe a week. Going to the Grand Canyon and Lake Mead and all kinds of stuff in between, so I'm pretty stoked. I LOVE the Southwest.   Wish me luck that my car survives the desert! (Hence new radiator) 🤠👍

Sometimes sleep can be a scary thing.  I passed out so hard at 4:54pm today.  Yesterday wiped me out with rentals, appointments and helping a lost dog get back home.  Fortunately, I found him on Facebook and contacted the owners and he was picked up before nightfall.  But I think I totally overdid it and paid for it today in the middle of handling business.  Thankfully it was some work at home stuff.   I definitely do not like being that kind of tired.  It's like the World could end and I'd wake up afterwards trying to find out what happened.
