Homicidalheathen Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 So I buy these cause I am supposed to eat lost of green crap. (yah, crap........it tastes like crap......Ok? I call it as I see it) I am thinking it is safe because no one here likes to eat my mushy green crap. I come home and my first choice the creamed spinach......is gone. So now I am stuck with miniature cabbage heads. Sorry, but thats what they are. And I hate cabbage. But its good for me so......I gotta do it. I am sorry for all the vegetable bashing and prefference....but I can't help it. Call me anti brussels. I just don't understand why all the things I HAVE to eat, doctors orders......go first around here. Even when its something they usually don't like........like my ensure cans. Its not a chocolate milk substitute ok? I use them to keep healthy and my weight up. Its wierd but its like my kids......they always want what I have even if its icky. And this cookie dough is kinda scaring me......its like I was visited by the cookie dough fairy in the middle of the night......why didn't they eat this stuff? Well posting this made me feel better. I am just glad I have some food missing to bitch about. And last night......I had Carribou my friend who is a woman, shot from 400 yards. I was proud of her......and it was delicious! Yes! I am still eating meat! And in small doses so far, ok. It had no wild taste and was leaner than beef. Actually.....it tasted like beef. Those eskimos know whats good I tells ya.
Zenji Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 I'd take Brussels over Creamed anything....anyday. Especially Spinach. Isn't that shit still killing folks across america or something helpful like that? Do you eat...greens? Ya know, Collard or turnip greens? they're pretty....green for veggies and aren't as mushy as spinach. Plus if you buy it fresh it doesn't have that "I'm a veggie from a can" taste to it. I think I just prefer veggies that aren'y mush. Like I can eat more veggies raw than cooked except for a select few which I absolutely cannot eat raw, like tomatoes (though the tom is actually a fruit not a veggie).
Homicidalheathen Posted December 4, 2006 Author Posted December 4, 2006 Mush sucks but its easier to digest so mush it is.....hence, Old Country Buffet is a favoret. I think the place is designed around denture wearers and old people with stomach and digestive issues.....food is pretty bland too.
ManicQueen Posted December 4, 2006 Posted December 4, 2006 I tried my first brussel sprout this year at Thanksgiving.. it wasn't that bad but not good enough that I'll be eating them again. When I was little, my mom and I, used to eat spinach straight from the can. I no longer do that.

When I was little, my mom and I, used to eat spinach straight from the can. I no longer do that. Yuk.
Zenji Posted December 5, 2006 Posted December 5, 2006 Anyone who eats cabbage can eat brussel sprouts. They're AWESOME. As long as you don't overcook them or eat way too many you're good to go.

Homicidalheathen Posted December 5, 2006 Author Posted December 5, 2006 I used to hate cabbage but ya know what? If you prepare it right its actually kinda good. I think its cause my parents used to have a HUGE garden......we didn't buy much produce when I was growing up. We grew most of it. I used to have to chop that nasty smelling stuff all day by hand until I got blisters..... Then she would put it in a butter churn to (ugh) turn bad.......thats how croute is made. It stank up the whole house for 2 weeks. Nasty. Then they would can and eat it later. Just gross. Fermented alcohol is one thing......but veggies is quite another.
