too funny... I just saw the review on CNet & came here expressly to start a thread raving about it. Yeah that is one utterly awe-inspiring piece of techie goodness for sure. The Treo 650 I bought yesterday now looks like some primitive artifact. Who do I have to fuck to get one RIGHT NOW?

I agree that it looks cool, but I would have concerns about that beautiful screen smearing and scratching from all of the touch-screen functionality. I'm sure that protective screens will come out for it, but who wants to watch video through a crappy, bubbly protective screen? Just my thoughts.

That would be a concern for me too... life in my purse is is pretty harrowing for even the best-made devices. But there are some really good screen protectors available... you just have to look around and most of all, not be cheap about it.

The one that came w/my new Treo looked killer on the sales dude's... but of course I put mine on all screwy so it looks... well... crappy & bubbly.

My Ipod rests in a nice little case that protects it most of the time. Scratches aren't a problem. Smudges aren't going to be a big deal either... You hardly notice on a bright screen.

They were in negotiations that were supposed to have been concluded yesterday... Guess not. Linksys must have decided that it would be more lucrative to sue then get paid royalties.

Is anyone really going to want to carry their cell phone around in a faux-suede case? This is an actual question. I have a hard enough time getting to my phone when it's ringing; I don't need another obstacle to get in the way. I would just wind up not using the case. Btw, I heard that the pricing ($500 for 4gb, $600 for 8gb) is WITH signing a two year contract. That's right folks, that's a discounted pricing.

Yup... I have the heavy-duty aircraft-grade aluminum case w/neoprene lining for my Treo. It really isn't that inconvenient; there's a little window so the touchscreen can be viewed but isn't accessible w/out opening the case (opens like a little hinged door), but to take calls I don't have to open it. It is fairly bulky, but since I carry it in my purse rather than pocket, that isn't much of an issue.

and.. hehe... the case gives lots more surface to put decals on 'cos u know I looove to decorate things!

I'm sure manufacturers of such things are scrambling to crank out i-phone cases even as we speak (or type I guess)!
