I know one that represents me,"Angel of Death" Slayer

Right now cannot think of one that represents someone on the board.

See if you can think of a song that represents yourself,or someone on the board.

"I'm Not Okay (I Promise)" - My Chemical Romance. The song that describes me, (plus the one song i actually DO like by MCR)

Well if you wanted honesty, that's all you had to say.

I never want to let you down or have you go, it's better off this way.

For all the dirty looks, the photographs your boyfriend took,

Remember when you broke your foot from jumping out the second floor?

I'm not okay

I'm not okay

I'm not okay

You wear me out

What will it take to show you that it's not the life it seems?

(I'm not okay)

I've told you time and time again you sing the words but don't know what it means

(I'm not okay)

To be a joke and look, another line without a hook

I held you close as we both shook for the last time take a good hard look!

I'm not okay

I'm not okay

I'm not okay

You wear me out

Forget about the dirty looks

The photographs your boyfriend took

You said you read me like a book, but the pages all are torn and frayed

I'm okay

I'm okay!

I'm okay, now

(I'm okay, now)

But you really need to listen to me

Because I'm telling you the truth

I mean this, I'm okay!

(Trust Me)

I'm not okay

I'm not okay

Well, I'm not okay

I'm not o-fucking-kay

I'm not okay

I'm not okay

(Okay)

I'll have to go with "Queen Bitch" for myself, tyvm.

I'm up on the eleventh floor

And I'm watching the cruisers below

He's down on the street

And he's trying hard

to pull sister Flo

My heart's in the basement

My weekend's at an all time low

'Cause she's hoping to score

So I can't see her

letting him go

Walk out of her heart

Walk out of her mind

(Oh no, not her!)

She's so swishy in her satin and tat

In her frock coat

and bipperty-bopperty hat

Oh God, I could do better than that

She's an old-time ambassador

Of sweet talking, night walking games

And she's known in the darkest clubs

For pushing ahead of the dames

If she says she can do it

Then she can do it,

she don't make false claims!

But she's a Queen,

and such are queens

That your laughter

is sucked in their brains

Now she's leading him on

And she'll lay him right down

Yeah she's leading him on

And she'll lay him right down

But it could have been me

Yes, it could have been me

Why didn't I say,

why didn't I say, no, no, no

She's so swishy in her satin and tat

In her frock coat

and bipperty-bopperty hat

Oh God, I could do better than that

So I lay down a while

And I gaze at my hotel wall

Oh the cot is so cold

It don't feel like no bed at all

Yeah I lay down a while

And I gaze at my hotel wall

But he's down on the street

So I throw both his bags down the hall

And I'm phoning a cab

'Cause my stomach feels small

There's a taste in my mouth

And it's no taste at all

It could have been me

Oh yeah, it could have been me

Why didn't I say,

Why didn't I say, no, no, no

She's so swishy in her satin and tat

In her frock coat

and bipperty-bopperty hat

Oh God, I could do better than that!

(Oh Yeah!!!)

(Mm HMM!)

Different people on rotation on this board... at different times

The Day I Tried To Live - Soundgarden

I woke the same as any other day

Except a voice was in my head

It said seize the day, pull the trigger, drop the blade

And watch the rolling heads

The day I tried to live

I stole a thousand beggar's change

And gave it to the rich

The day I tried to win

I dangled from the power lines

And let the martyrs stretch

Singing

One more time around

Might do it

One more time around

Might make it

One more time around

Might do it

One more time around

The day I tried to live

Words you say never seem

To live up to the ones

Inside your head

The lives we make

Never seem to ever get us anywhere

But dead

The day I tried to live

I wallowed in the blood and mud with

All the other pigs

I woke the same as any other day you know

I should have stayed in bed

The day I tried to live

I wallowed in the blood and mud with

All the other pigs

And I learned that I was a liar

Just like you

Hehe, that song's totally about a gay boy! ;) Well, he was gay at the time, anyway.

The Day I Tried To Live - Soundgarden

Holy timewarp. I used to love love LOVE this song when Superunknown first came out, and I haven't listened to it in ages! Thanks for reminding me! *ponders purchasing on iTunes*

Hm, I don't know if I have any song that represent DGNers, but there are definitely a few that remind me of some:

"Cuts You Up" by Peter Murphy always makes me think of Saechalyn

"Carbon" by VNV Nation makes me think of Drew (not really a current member, but oh well).

Placebo songs in general remind me of slept with ghost.

Any and every Misfits song reminds me of Meg.

Nick Cave and Einstürzende Neubauten recall st masey.

As for me? I'm unsure. Let me remember.

Hehe, that song's totally about a gay boy! ;).gif Well, he was gay at the time, anyway.

Actually, he "came out" in the late 80's or so and said the whole "bisexual" thing was just a popularity ploy.

Whether he was lying about it at THAT time is anyone's guess, lol...

but I like that song because you can listen to it a billion ways and apply it as either a man OR a woman's perspective about the man OR the woman being described in the song, and hell, the woman isn't necessarily a woman, is she? She's a queen...

That's what I love about it. It glorifies omnisexuality.

I'll go with "Here am I" by Sol Invictus for myself:

Here am I, above this world

A face in flames and a knowing smile

Dream your dreams and tread your paths

It all ends the same, alone in the dark

And here am I drunk and bored

Even I don't want to drink any more

Here you are drunk and scared

You have finally realised that life's not fair

Outside they are gathering and their fangs are bared

For the bigger your fangs, the bigger your share

What deity made us, was it a good idea?

In theory maybe, in practice, oh dear

And here am I drunk and bored

Even I don't want to drink any more

Here you are drunk and scared

You have finally realised that life's not fair

Here am I, above this world

A face in flames and a knowing smile

Dream your dreams and tread your paths

It all ends the same, alone in the dark

And here am I drunk and bored

Even I don't want to drink any more

Here you are drunk and scared

You have finally realised that life's not fair

i have no keys on my keyboard right now, but when i was depressed, nin's everyday is exactly the same hit home hard (though i was never suicidal) emphasis mine on stuff that struck home n particular:

I believe I can see the future

Cause I repeat the same routine

I think I used to have a purpose

But then again

That might have been a dream

I think I used to have a voice

Now I never make a sound

I just do what I've been told

I really don't want them to come around

Oh, no

[Chorus:]

Every day is exactly the same

Every day is exactly the same

There is no love here and there is no pain

Every day is exactly the same

I can feel their eyes are watching

In case I lose myself again

Sometimes I think I'm happy here

Sometimes, yet I still pretend

I can't remember how this got started

But I can tell you exactly how it will end

[Chorus]

I'm writing on a little piece of paper

I'm hoping someday you might find

Well I'll hide it behind something

They won't look behind

I'm still inside here

A little bit comes bleeding through

I wish this could have been any other way

But I just don't know, I don't know what else I can do

I don't know why... this song.. is me... it fits.. and makes me feel better when I flustered with life and the people that are in it.

Shelter - Corrosion Of Conformity

Once in a while you

Be better listening to the fools for a change

I can see it in your eyes, it's the ones not like you

You despise

I'm no different than you, it's just that I do whatever I want to

That's what sets us apart I was free from the start, now your leaving

Tell me whose heart is bleeding

So, once in a while you'd

Be better listening to the fools for a change

What comes around follows and the truth becomes harder to swallow

So, bang, bang they shoot you down

No one says a word as your body hits the ground

Pick her up and put her down

The crowd screams aloud "she's not breathing"

And the only hands that reaches, is the one alone

You've been cheating my friend

Tell me whose heart is bleeding again

So, once in a while you'll

Be better listening to the fools for a change

Once in a while you'll

Be better listening to the fools...

Bowie. I didn't know the song was a tribute, at any rate.

Yeah, it's about Lou Reed from the Velvet Underground. They both kind of wore bisexuality like a fashion accessory back then, so I didn't know which one you meant.

Hmmm.... I thought Bowie and Iggy Pop were a not so secret "item" back when glam ruled the scene....the movie "Velvet Goldmine" was loosly based on that relationship. In fact that whole scene (led by Marc Bolan really) was very openy experimental and androgenous....way before the 80's.........

Placebo songs in general remind me of slept with ghost.

Ditto on the Placebo for many reasons, the main one being Dave worships the Molko, and who wouldn't with his sexy ass (atleast pre-sober lol).

Any and every Misfits song reminds me of Meg.

Thats because I kick ass =)

Welcome to the machine by PF reminds me of the Drewbear, because one of the first times I had gone to IPM it was the first song on his set.

Nightingale by Mephisto Walz reminds me of Lulu, not to mention any Smiths or Cure song. =) Oh and Romeos Distress for some reason....... by CD

Big Pimping by Jay Z reminds me of Disenchanted because it was his cell phone ring and he drove me crazy with it one night and the way too and the way home from CC, now when I think of him, that song pops in my head!! (not that he posts anymore).

Fighter by CA reminds me of MEl (Mrs. Rayne!!)

Faggot also reminds me of Slept with Ghost or any MSI for that matter.

Right around the corner , that the Detroit Cobras covered, Blueberry boat by the Fiery Furnaces, Repitle by NIN, superhumans by THe Flaming lips, To Kill a King by Hungry Lucy and twenty million other songs remind me of Jarod.

Any Cyndi Lauper song reminds me of FC

Any Mott the Hoople song reminds me of Steven =)

Plush by STP reminds me of Pharoh lol .... :wink

Dance magic Dance by DB reminds me of Kelly because of her "goblin King" shirt =)

it could've all just been for show.

or they could've been "straight" the whole time they were fucking each other. i could talk for hours on the subject of choosing one's sexuality label but it would have nothing to do with this thread.

"once in a lifetime" reminds me of scary guy. but he ain't around s'much anymore, is he? =P

Tough one Gaf...

Maybe Sargent D of the SOD by SOD, Or maybe Fuck the Middle East by SOD... (only when you are angry though)

For a more complete picture... I will have to get back to you

i was actually thinking about that earlier. i think about you when i hear old-school floyd. i wonder how that could be!!

(i think it's an autistic side of my personality that i don't seem to equate people i know to songs so readily)
