Tally 1 For The Wii

The first thing I did when I saw the picture was to click it. This took me to http://wiinintendo.net/2007/01/15/wii-spor...riment-results/

Where you will see two sets of pics clicking these pics reveal lager versions. (photo shopping rule no.1 work big finish small) less pixels = harder to spot flaws.

Now the first thing I thought when I saw these two sets "higher exposure levels in the after photos" As I'm sure Msterbeau can attest to, this will cause a fuzziness in the areas containing more light in this case from left to right, ours not his. Look at his left hand in the after pic, you will note that it contains a blur that is not on the pants, yet his hand is partly over his pants indicating that it was motion blur.

Distance

Using the wooden floor in the photos I have determined that the after photo was taken approximately 2 inches further from the door and by the same method determined that he is about 4 inches further from the door or 2 inches closer to the camera. Yet another reason for blur.

I ran gamma correction and noticed jpeg artifacts that overlapped him and the background, these should have been chopped off if shopping had been involved.

I ran a color filter. Here are my settings

Preserve Luminosity

Shadows cyan/red -100, magenta/green 0, yellow/blue 100

Mid tones cyan/red 0, magenta/green 0, yellow/blue 100

Highlights cyan/red 0, magenta/green 0, yellow/blue 100

The red in the before photo disappeared to the point that less then 1% of the pixels where purple.

In the after photo you cant help but notice all the red and white in the background indicating he changed his light bulb between pics to a stronger wattage and or different brand/type. I cant tell you exactly what but I can tell you that incandescent light bulbs have a lumen degradation that is noticeably different after only fifty hours of burn time.

In the after photo his body also got very blackened indicating he had less light cast on it indicating he was further from his light source, in this case the light reflected from the wall. Yet another cause for blur as Caucasoid skin rather refractive so he had a stronger light being reflected at a different angle.

Determination? Unshopped.I can also tell you he didn't lose weight, his posture indicates that he is crunching.

The profile pics on the other hand are shopped to hell and back

Even without running gamma ( artifacts are chopped) I could have told you this.

A contortionist cant keep their chest and stomach that level and put that much arch in their back

I have also used that technique to make extra terrestrials look thinner plus from his brow ridge and crown on down there are the tell tail signs of going over board with edge softening. Reckless dill hole. Less is more.

Oh by the way his distances in these are the same as the others.

Knowing graphic design is a tad different from trying to fool Photo Forensicologists like I've been trying since I threw my first glow in the dark frisbee and took a snap shot with a 110 about 18 years ago. :wink

T.O.P.H.O.A.X. rules! May we never get caught!!

Oh Brass.

If that is a standard 4 inch wide pain in the door then then he has a perspective shift of around 5 or 6 inches, you would only have to move over 2 inches to gain this shift but it is more than enough to cover not only the door knob but the shadow it casts. By the positioning of his feet he moved over 3 and on top of the he is standing straight unlike in the first where he is leaning to his left.

so the guy made a really stupid pointless "weight-loss after picture," but unwittingly made a pretty cool optical illusion...?
