Vampyro Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 Finding a job in michigan is just like trying to get a girl when your single... ...if you're unemployed, jobs don't want you (eh duh... i'm available, so why not?) ...if you're employed, then it's easier to find another (eh.. DUH! I got a job, so why now?!) ...when interviewing, they can reject you for any stupid ass dumb fuckin reason (I was told, they don't hire white boys round here...) ...jobs think their company is the best in the world, but it's not, your job stinks, just like your pussy... stop trying to hide the fact. (seriously, the more snooty the job is/stuck up the chick is, there's a reason, their shit stinks and they're trying to make belive a rotten hole soaked in piss is something good) the first month is always the shakiest, where they'll get rid of you for any small little fuck up. The only difference is, girls cost money, jobs make money, so in the end, not finding a job sucks... not finding a girl... well that evens out. Those are all the similarities I can find between getting hired and finding a girl. If you got any add them here.
BrassFusion Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 the most desirable ones always hire the people who suck up the best and have no real skills. and they always get rid of you that one day before you're scheduled to get benefits.
Der Nister Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 I know exactly what you mean and how you feel - Michigan is in the toilet as far as the job market goes. There are a few cities I've found that have lots of jobs and it has helped me a great deal. The only difference is, girls cost money, jobs make money, so in the end, not finding a job sucks... not finding a girl... well that evens out. BTW - the part I quoted here was too fucking funny (and hit the target I might add).
Homicidalheathen Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 Hang in there, it will work out. I just know it!
HipsterDufus Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 ...if you're employed, then it's easier to find another (eh.. DUH! I got a job, so why now?!) Not true, at least in my case. I've been looking for 5 months.
Homicidalheathen Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 It is tough. My friend works at Ford as a agent.....he just heard they are discontinuiing all agent contracts. He just got divorced, has no money......kids in college and with babies.....
pomba gira Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 I totally feel ya Vampyro. I've just about given up on finding a teaching gig for this year... It's even more frustrating 'cos there are districts in the south just begging for teachers with basic cert, but I can't re-locate because of the deal w/my house. There was one district in FL... Orlando, I think... offering an $8k sign bonus at one high school. That's enough to make me break my no-high school policy. And there are actually a lot of teaching gigs here, but... they all require the endorsements that I can't afford to get. There were FOUR special ed jobs w/the Lansing schools on the METB website this week... I damn near cried with sheer frustration when I saw that. NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND SUCKS BIG DONKEY DICKS, CAMEL COCKS, POLAR BEAR PRICKS, WALRUS WANGS, and... well... you get the idea.
Steven Posted January 25, 2007 Posted January 25, 2007 the most desirable ones always hire the people who suck up the best and have no real skills. and they always get rid of you that one day before you're scheduled to get benefits. I moved here three years ago. I've had 4 jobs. 1 in sales 1 in homeland defense as a dog handler in Detroit 1 as a multi state service tech for department stores lighting issues and the one I have now, as an operations manager for a commerical sign and lighting company. all 4 had bennies. I currently have bennies. 3 jobs were a measurable step forward in terms of income, I was never fired or laid off but instead took advantage of offers made to me along the way that I helped to create, one was a lateral move with the same income I had before. Last May the salary I negotiated for came thru with an increase of 5 grand after 6 months of favorable service. I have now been here for slightly over a year. I have no college degree. I did all kinds of dope thru high school and was in general, a delinquent sleeping on peoples couches. I may have even dated your sister if your from California. I have not been to trade tech school with the exception of the Bomb Dog thing, which I no longer do. None of the jobs I got in MI - were hiring - I found them all online or thru the yellow pages and talked them into giving me an interview. Every one of them, I expected to hire me, because I make good decisions under pressure, bust my ass, and have naturally curly hair. truth is, I could lose my job tommorow. so could you, and you, and you, and you. But I have naturally curly hair. therefore I would fully expect, a halfway decent paying job with bennies once again. And I have another book of yellow pages in the hall closet. now you know my trade secrets. Go. Conquer. Make me proud.

Vampyro Posted January 25, 2007 Author Posted January 25, 2007 lmao, thanks brass, that's another similarity, all the GOOD jobs, just like decent girls, always seem to wanna stick with the worthless loosers... I do have a job, and I do have a plan, but my job just frusterates the hell out of me. I'm in charge of cleaning everything in taco bell, and trust me, behind some of their food stations, is some funk that's grown and crusted to the walls and floor for years. I'm sorta getting desprate to get somewhere else. It's funny though, cuz like most girls, jobs are the same way with me. Where I am good under pressure, and one of the best someone could ask for, yet it seems that EVERYTIME I go for it, it passes me over not willing to agknowledge just what I am, and go for someone less quallified, and thinks the world of them... wtf? Pomba, i feel you too, the jobs here suck, they're just like 18 year old girls when i was in high school... 99% of people just need to grow up and realize that the only one's that have the 20 + years of experience they're looking for... aren't looking for jobs, they already got them... why can't they ever let any new blood in?
