Saephyr Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 :tear AS most of you know... I have serious health issues. If you didn't then well you've missed a lot of whining from me kiddo I went for my check up today and was anxious to discuss a new and very awesome new techknowlogy called a SPINAL CORD STIMULATOR It's a new device to medicine for folks in chronic pain and I think it's pretty cool. I was discussing it with my pain specialist and he decided that I can get the trial version right away rather than just bullshit about it more than we already have. SO...I go in tomorrow ...(fast or what), to have to trial model installed into my spine. It's very odd and very cool and even Jerry Lewis the actor/comedian has one and has reported that it has changed his life forever. I guess it's my turn to see if I can use one rather than eating a ton of drugs daily. Man do I mean a TON. I mean I was taking Methadone, Vicodin, Naproxyn, Phernegan, Dulcolace, Temazepan, hormones and Xanax ALONG WITH a lot of others to help those drugs work better OR help with side effects of those named YA KNOW?! I mean I only need to have a cure for migraines and depression and have my cancer removed and then I wouldn't need all this crap in my body but per usual... " You're too young to get that procedure done" comes up every time. Sooooooooo my doctor has been helping me the best he can. I can get the pelvic pain under control if this thing works but the other items will have to be dealt with in other ways. I just thought if I can get SOMe of this grocery list of pills out of me I could have a normal life. True...I will be setting off metal detectors all over the world but that's really a small price to pay I just wanted to get some of this crud dealth with so I figure if I cost insurance even more money they may simply agree to give me the operations that I need to get and get this device removed eventually. Who knows So tomorrow a.m. I will be under the knife fo rmy trial operation to see if this thing works for me. If not, back to the pills all over but I am willing to try this even if it is :fear :erm :tear just a few emotions I have dealt with since today at 930 am. Just wanted to let you guys know why I have been absent from all activities as of late. This has been really wild and then I have court coming up too! So Saephyr has had a huge stressful life this past few months and is hiding out for fear of driing my pals nuts with details and Just would like to know that someone will be praying for me out there in DGN land. I miss you guys lotz. Wish me luck here. I am so fuqing scared it's crazy and I can be as tough as I want but this is crazy scary. I deserve a drink after this shit I tell ya. I shall report in soon my friends. I do want my life back so I can come and see y'all at the club but ...we'll have to see 1st. youz ******************************************************************************** ****** Attention Amended post!!! ******************************************************************************** ******* This is my amendment to this post. I kinda got sick and had to wait on the surgery. I AM rescheduling to get it done ASAP however, becasue it needs to be tried to see if it can help me. The next opening date is the day after my DISABILITY COURT HEARING !!! I haven't read your notes or posts yet until now and I love youz for any kind words you may have said here. I am just TERRIFIED to be honest with you all. Why? I'm never scared of surgery sicne I believe in medicine and this doctor I have. So what's wrong with me? :tear I AM SO PARANOID...someone say something comforting please. Thank you.

Saephyr Posted February 9, 2007 Author Posted February 9, 2007 Thanx all !! :blushing :tear Just a note... this will only be targeting my pelvic pain from the cancer in my female organs. The LOGICAl thing to do would be to remove the cancer. That being my reproductive organs. I got my tubes tied many years ago, like in 2000/2001 and they keep saying that they will NOT do the removal called a hysterectomy, because "You're too young to have that done. You are still at a child bearing age." Well assholes...I tied my tubes off so that can not happen so whats the big problem? For this they have no answer for me. :confused I mean, no I don't WANT any surgery but if I have to go get surgery for a pain-altering apparatus then alright. Logic dictates that if they just remove the organs that are causing the pain to begin with, again they refuse so with this logic goin' who the hell knows what's next. The BIG problem is , I still have and continue to have the life affecting migraines! I can't make them stop and the physicians that my pain specialist, Dr. J. Rosenberg in Garden City, are at U of M and my insurance won't let me see their head pain specialists! Again !!! I wish I could start a campaign to have a ton of letters sent to my insurer to make them give me the availibility to get the help I need. The court hearing for my disabilty is the 13th. Talk about being terrified again, and I am prepared to hear them say "no" but I am hoping that I will hear something much different naturally. I am told that this state ALWAYS says no before they allow a person to get it since so many people are on it that don't need to be. Even folks on DGN are on it that can lead a normal life have it and are 1 of the contributing factors why i have to go through this shit. Who's supporting me? Well, you guys pay for all my insurances by limited Medicaid ABW, and my father who was just FORCED to retire and Mother who kills herself with the USPostal office. It's hurting so many people I love and forcing my whole life to be an awful ride. I used to be happy to just wake up every day. I swear it I was! I would wake up smiling and get ready for my job and just live a normal life. Now, if I had a job my boss would fire my ass within a months time or less. Let's just hope that this SCS device can help 1 thing, and then someone can help me get my head to get under control with the migraines and I find a doctor to fix my arthritis and I can be out there and be able to bitch about my hours, my paycheck, missing my godkids birthdays due to work and not a painful issue of some sort. I just wish to be normal again. ( a normal gothy, trampy, smoking, drinking, fun person to have around), and I can be a friend and good girlfriend and such to everyone involved for a change. So wish me luck on the 13th as well guys. "It ain't easy being me!"
ManicQueen Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 Good luck baby. If you need anything, I'm here.
glc Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 Hey Cat, I used to suffer from really nasty migraines aswell. Migraines that doctors had no idea how to fix. I started to see a chiropractor, on the off chance that they knew what to do, and my migraines started to subside, untill eventually they went away completely. I could rock up to the chiropractor with a crippling migraine, he would do his thing, and I would walk out with total relief. He could actually stop them mid stream!! I started to refer to him as god because I couldn't believe how easy it was for him to make them go away. I'm sure that you have tried everything, but on the off chance you haven't seen a chiropractor for your migraines, I strongly suggest that you do.

I've suffered with them for the past 13 years. I usually get them 9-15 times per month.. not fun. Unfortunately, the chiropractor didn't do me any good, neither the pain meds I was on. If I could get this device I would, in a heart beat! More power to you Cat!

Good health is one of those things you truly don't appreciate until you lose it. Isn't there some advocacy group out there that advises people on getting insurance cos. to authorize procedures? There's gotta be something... your situation is far from unique. I'm curious- do the migraines predate the other conditions? If not, I bet they would go away or at least respond to tx if you could just get the other problems dealt with. I'm also curious what their reason is for not doing a hysterectomy... are they worried it would screw up your hormonal balance or something? Altho I guess that kind of depends on whether a simple hysterectomy or full hysterectomy/oophorectomy is needed. Anyway I hope your procedure was successful. Sounds like it at least went smoothly since you are happily posting in the "expecting good action" thread!
Nienna Posted February 11, 2007 Posted February 11, 2007 I'm so hoping this works for you sweetie! I'm pulling for you!

Silly Brooke if you go to THIS doc I see he WILL make sure you get one dispite what your insurance says. I only have ABW Medicaid who pays for nothing. He basicly is paying for it out of the hospital funds that he gets for his patients! He's no joke. If you have chronic pain, get a referal to go to him. he's in Garden City on Ford road and his name is Dr. Jeffrey Rosenberg and for a limited time he's accepting new patients . ANYONE who has any kind of chronic pain I would advise them to go to him! He' is amazing and he gets results. I have been with him since Spring. I have gone from needing spinal injections that didn't help, to severe medds that are working but not all the time, to this SCS that he highly advises me to get so that I can stop taking so may pain meds and ruining my innerds from so much drug use. ( Put it this way, my insurance won't cover Oxycontin right, so he went over and around their dumbasses and got me on Methadone. It's stronger and easier to deal with as far as not getting addicted). I wouldn't advise any doc that was just OK, his people are terrific!

Sounds like it at least went smoothly since you are happily posting in the "expecting good action" thread! Thanks for the love! The insurance company won't remove my innerds becasue "I'm still of child rearing years". They are so retarded since I had my tubes tied in 2001, I think it was, and have no chance of becoming pregnant anyway due to the damn Endometriosis being so bad it's corrupted my uterus past the point of carrying. Yes, the migraines started in 1992 and got at their worst in 1994 to the point of being debilitating. I tried to ignor them, drug myself silly and all that stuff, even sccupuncture though it felt wonderful to my other parts of the body, my migraines still kept getting worse. I even had ONE migraine last for, get this, 18 straight months!!! Talk about suicidal right? I got into a clinic called M.H.N.I. & they drugged me into a 'break' but wanted me on so many daily pills that my gall bladder rotted out. So that method had to go. I swear I was on more than 25 pills a day! That was I do agree that if my cancer gets removed, that my head would very likely get better if not resolved. You know as well as I that 1 illness precipitates another. I mean Endo, migraines, arthritis, fybromyalgia, extree swelling due to mild blockage OR cardiac infarctions just improper blood flow & intake gettign alog, depression severe obviously, facial tumors in my maxilary sinus, being early menopausal and all these thigns at once!!! I sound like some kind of a fuqing hypochondriacal pain in the ass. THUS, I have that trial on the 13th so the court can tell me I don't deserve any disability pay ya know? Chiropractors, I asked 5 docs if I can try 1 and they all asked me not to. They say they can't stop me but, they are not M.D.s and they can possably do more harm then good which is unimaginable.

Curious MQ...what are you using for daily control? Ever tried Topamax or even Inderal? Both work but I would advise the Inderal 1st since Topamax causes a LOT of side effects and I mean a LOT of them :( then you're on pills to combat those things as well. Read my other post to you MQ, u should try my doc. U could get this device I just bet on it!

I would have lost my job years ago without this treatment. I have had been on Inderal for years, no side effects for me except it lowers my slightly high blood pressure which is not a bad thing either. Migraines are usually hereditary and lifelong and it's very important to treat them because according to my neurologist, your stroke risk will go up with every untreated migraine.
glc Posted February 12, 2007 Posted February 12, 2007 Fucking doctors. They told you not to see a chiropractor? Typical. doctors are so paranoid that "alternative medicine" is going to take their business away that they play the typical fear game with their patients. Chiropractic and chinese medicine will cure any issue I can throw at them. Issues that doctors have told me I have to live with forever, have been overcome in weeks. Not just me, but a bunch of other people I know too. I wish these people that are meant to be looking after our health would worry more about our health, and other possible solutions, than terrifying us into their "superior western medicine" so that they can afford the repayments on their new mercedes.
