Gothmama25 Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 Just wanted to let everyone now that as of last monday I am now officiallly engaged to be married. I proposed to my boyfriend klaus aka nick in the "british isles" at oasis hot tubs and he said yes. I love him soo much. The wedding will most likely take place in a year or two down the road. But you all will be invited. Please make sure to wear something black when you attend cause the wedding is going to be goth themed.

LuluVox Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 Haha, that's kinda funny -- I had a dream last night that another girl from this board was engaged. It was also a totally fucked up situation, but hey, that's dreams for you.
Vampyro Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 Congrats, but... have you even been with him for even a month yet?? I'm not poking fun at anything but... wow you two are moving extremely fast don't ya think?
Homicidalheathen Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 Heh ditto that but I guess you know, it does happen. Where whirlwind romances last...
Rayne Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 Congrats, but... have you even been with him for even a month yet?? I'm not poking fun at anything but... wow you two are moving extremely fast don't ya think? ... That's what I was thinking ... and there's a kid involoved. I mean, I think PHEE and I moved quick ... and we dated for 9 months before our engagement ... and another 3 months before our wedding. We even lived together for months before both. LOL, we've officially lived together for a year, this month.
ManicQueen Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 Black? That's original.. oh yeah.. Congrats!
Rayne Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 Black? That's original.. oh yeah.. Congrats! I wore a black and red dress at my wedding. *shrug*
ManicQueen Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 I wore a black and red dress at my wedding. *shrug* Black and red is hawt though!
Fierce Critter Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 Waiting a year or two is a good idea. May it work out for you in the end.
Gaf The Horse With Tears Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 Um, yeah... so much cattyness.... Congrats. I'm a silly romantic at heart and still believe in Love at First Sight and Soulmates. If this is truly what you want.. and deep in your heart your cool with the suddeness of it... Run with it.. It's still better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all... someone famous said that....
BrassFusion Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 how can you be deeply comfortable with something that sudden? it seems like a contradiction of terms. and while whirlwind romances can be worth it despite the pain, whirlwind marriages often are not. not that I've ever gone through a messy divorce myself, i just don't plan on it, i guess.
Gothmama25 Posted February 10, 2007 Author Posted February 10, 2007 Congrats, but... have you even been with him for even a month yet?? I'm not poking fun at anything but... wow you two are moving extremely fast don't ya think? We have been dating for almost 2 months.
Guest Megalicious Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 We have been dating for almost 2 months. [/quote Thats not like it alot longer then 1 month. Look I like you and Klause, I've meet you both, your sweet ppl. I just don't want you doing something that is impuisive and end up hurting both of you in the long run. Engaged is fine just wait a long while till you get married hun.
Guest Megalicious Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 Oh and not to TJ .. BTW. Don't think you ppl are getting away with wearing black at my wedding! I want you bitches in caution orange and yellow ..... something IVE NEVER SEEN YOU IN!!!
Gaf The Horse With Tears Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 The wife and I were married 4 months after we met. That was damn near 12 years ago. My wife's best friend married a man within 6 months of meeting him. That was nearly 10 years ago. Do what, to you, feels right. Noone but you and Klaus have any idea what is in your heart and wether or not it's strong enough to keep you together. Besides, if it fails, you are the ones that have to live with the aftermath and deal with any children affected by it. Cheers and crongrats again.
Fierce Critter Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 Kudos, Gaf. Met my husband online in February. Met in person in April. Married in October. And celebrating our 9th anniversary this October. And things just keep getting better. And I think people are missing the "we're going to wait a year or two". Pretty important point there. Good amount of time to get to know each other and work out the kinks - or not. Best of luck. Be realistic - but be optimistic.
phee Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 My opinion here is the last thing that you should be worried about, as well as anyone elses... This is your relationship and your engagement... so the only opinion that you need from me is that I hope you both will be happy
the eternal Posted February 10, 2007 Posted February 10, 2007 Whoa now, people! All an engagement requires is a ring and a commitment to one another. They didn't say "Hey, we just went to Vegas to get hitched." That's not for a year or two, remember? Best of luck to both of you, and I hope we'll all be there in our best black attire in 2008 or 09. This will give both of you plenty of time to solidify your love for one another. If the naysayers are right, their prophecy will come true well before the wedding bells ring. Let's just give them a chance to bond first.
