Obama To Run For President

Just my opinion, alot has happened these past 8 years since Bush has been in office. It has given the republicans a very tarnished reputation, but in such a way it's only ruined in short term memory. Because of certain events, the fact of how uncertain the future is is being forced into the obvious more than people like, and most are afraid of change, especially with the possibility of things possibly getting worse looming over their heads. This is, generally speaking, the biggest dammaging punch to the replublicans.

however, The democrats I feel aren't quite grasping this concept of change as there's hilary, and obama, though racism and sexism will both have their roll in dammaging each candidate's popularity, I feel primarily the sudden change of straying from a typical white man is more dammaging. The recent change the past 8 years has left people very uncomfortable about possible new changes, and generally are wishing things were how they were back in the day. I do wish to someday see a man who's not white, and/or a female win presidency in my lifetime, however I feel this election is not the time to push for such a thing. We need change, yet it must be carefully planned out change. A brain hasn't always been popular, however i feel that's the Democratics best bet to win the election, find a brain, yet a brain who's honest and sincere about his promises, and is NOT a push over. Gore being the best I can think of for now, but I'm not putting this as fact, it is just my opinion.

I feel it's going to be a democratic win either way, but sudden change is going to be very unpopular while in office, thus obama, or hilary, if either win, may not have much pull.

just because a candidate is black or a woman isn't a change. that's what people have to realize, and it has to happen sooner or later.

i actually feel that now is the best time for a non-white and/or a female to win because it'll be the easiest. it would only be easier for the dems if dick cheney somehow won the republican nomination.

there might be an initial shock but people will figure out that it's just politics as usual with a black man or a woman in office.

i realize that, but a loud mouth know it all isn't going to change what the rest of the world thinks, especially one that makes an ass out of themselves just for the sake to disagree with everything i say in every post.. KER DUH!!!!

dude you're so wrong about that i can't even begin to detail the various ways

just watch the elections then, it WON'T happen, just like in other posts, it's simple. I'd actually love to see it done, but i'm not letting personal feelings cloud obvious facts. It's like going from several set of parents, most were good but the recent ones beat the shit outta you, so you go to new foster parents and one of them is black... alot of people have limited intelegence in this country sadly, and won't let themselves get past visual differences. America is still too facist, and afraid of change, even though most know we need it now, most aren't willing to risk trying something new for the first time, especially now.

*blink*

i didn't mean THAT, i was being ironic in the face of your insults.

as for obama, it's possible he won't win for reasons you say, and it's possible he will win for reasons i say, or he may win or lose and it would have nothing to do with what either of us believe. i just think the climate is right for a guy like him... and there's no way you can prove i'm wrong about that, if it's so important to you.

point taken, and obama is a good candidate, yet really... think for a second... facism here... kkk, skinheads, as much as i hate them... you can't ever under estimate stupid people in large groups, and as the nature of the beast goes, the squeaky wheel gets the oil. And alot more people i'm sure are against it than just those facist groups. maybe next election, or the one after that, after things settle down in this country. But really, now just isn't a good time to push that. it's like the michal moore thread. yeah, i agree with everything the ass says as how i feel things should be in this country, however, we got bigger shit to worry about than gay marriges and colored and/or female presidents. let's fix what's broken first before we try to pioneer new things that haven't been done in this countries history is the opinion i have about this.

Odd. I just watched a perfect example of why large groups of "stupid" people seem to win over most of the time. Those "stupid fascists" understand something that the leanered do not. Large numbers of people who can come to some form of understanding/compromise tend to win elections over large numbers of people who cling to what ever Ideal they have so feverishly that they can agree to vote in a particular way.

More to the Point...

The Democrats are not going to win anything if all they do is sit around bad talking each other all day without ever really putting any new ideas that the public can relate to forward. Obama and Hillary should be trying to tell people why the people should vote FOR them, not telling the people why they should NOT vote for the other... Negative campaigns work really well... but they do not put the best person in office.. they put the person if office who is the farthest away from being a normal person with faults and negative traits... that is.. Someone who has no idea what the common man or woman needs from them.

BTW:

Fascism is a form of government... sometimes, racism is used to facilitate the fascism... but they are not the same thing. Fascism is Communism at it's worst.

It's almost set in stone... it will be either Clinton or Obama that wins the election... every yuppie American will want to be able to say that THEY voted for the first black president, or the first female president... this is more like celebrity vs. Republican than Democrat vs. Republican... but in Clinton's case, its Communist vs. Republican.

I would like either Obama or McCain to win. Obama for a "fresh start" and McCain for more of the Bush attitude of preemptive protection... I like that approach. It's the reason I joined (the Army) in the first place.

i haven't seen ANY negative campaigning so far. maybe i'm just lucky.

check out obama's campaign website: it's very senatorial. he's all about, "c'mon, people, we need to work together! i need your input so's i can be the best candidate for you, omg, lol!" kinda.

It's mostly on Hillary's people right now. Nothing in the way of tv commercials or anything... just people pointing out things.. like that whole story about Obama going to a Muslim school run by a terrorist orginization... that turned out to be false and it also turned out to be a story planted by Hillary's staff.

Do you ever watch the news on TV? Or read a newspaper... Are things only real to you if you read them on the web. Do a damn google search.. I'm not your search engine. I'm not getting graded on this so I see no need to post sources when you can easily go read about it yourself with a simple search. You have the worlds most porwerfull research device at your disposal and you want me to use it for you... Don't get all "If you don;t post sources it must not be true.".. thats bullshit spouted by people to lazy to click a few links for themselves. If you think I'm lieing or making shit up.. check my facts yourself.. call me a liar if you find something that proves I am.

YOU'RE the one trying to prove something. the onus is on you to make me believe your wild claims.

A partly black man going up against a woman for the presidency. I'm interested to see how this plays out. Maybe a third party will actually win lol.

They're both running for the democratic nomination.

Nader's sole purpose in life is to steal votes from the opponent to whom he is most ideologically similar.

SMART STRATEGY THERE.

This is absolutely false.

I could be dead wrong but... either way I just got a feeling it's a whaste of time... I think they're rigging the elections again.

BF.. I should not have to prove something that is on the nightly news, is a front page headline for a week, was a piece on 60 minutes and a few other talk shows. I'm sorry if you are for whatever reason out of touch with whats going on. Hillary's group of people are running a dirty campiagn. I'm not the one claiming it.. you just have to actually read something about the campaign to know it. I would provide proof if my claim was not so widely known.

Actually, the sources I read provided no proof of Clinton's involvement. The story about him attending an Islamic primary school in Indonesia has been attributed to his 1995 autobiography. I guess the original "source" that "outed" him on that one was this Insight rag. I read that article... all it was was conjecture based on his schooling in Indonesia and a finger pointing at "researchers linked to the Clinton campaign," whoever they are.

As for the blowup on Fox News, what did you expect?
