Homicidalheathen Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 SO I don't know who is doing it, maybe an ex employee? Someone called 3x and tried to get me to settle a outstanding debt over the phone for a movie I did not have.......they do not say the name of the movie just that because its so overdue you must now, buy it to keep your account open. Yah, with a credit card. I called the store and they said no, I don't owe anything or have a movie out. So just be careful peeps.
Vampyro Posted February 16, 2007 Posted February 16, 2007 Ah caught em! Next time they call should tell em, and that your phone is hooked to your computer and you're such a leet hacker that you're finding the location and will be there soon to collect all HIS money... heheheh... then hang up and hope he's dumb enough to belive you're such a leet hacker

Homicidalheathen Posted February 16, 2007 Author Posted February 16, 2007 Yah, enlighten this old fart too.....will ya?
n0Mad Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 It appears that the leet have been beaten by the Üß3® £33† Wow, that's like super-uber leet. A great strategy to use against scammers like that is to tell them you're on the other line long distance and can they call back in about 15 minutes. Then you call law enforcement and tell them you're expecting a call in 15 minutes that you think is a scam. Have them put a temporary tap and trace on your phone and see if they can give you one of the FBI's flagged credit card numbers to give out as your own. When the scammers call back play it all legit and try to keep them on the line as long as possible before giving out "your" credit card number.
