Blackmail Posted February 19, 2007 Author Posted February 19, 2007 easily the new smashing pumpkins how was the billy corgan solo album?
glc Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 The billy album was met with mixed reivews, it definitely wasn't as good as siamese or melancholy, but it was ok. I'm really excited about their new album, but to be honest, I'm not expecting huge things.

LuluVox Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 Nick Cave's new garage band "Grinderman""Foul-mouthed, noisy, hairy, and damn well old enough to know better." I found the leaked version of that, and I'll definitely be buying a legal copy when it comes out. On a similar note, one of the music reviewers at work today told me that he'd just heard that Mute's planning on releasing some kind of double CD/DVD live Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds -- Abattoir Blues-related dealie thing sometime soonish. Details are obviously vague at this point, but I thought it sounded plausible.
DarkVampire Posted February 22, 2007 Posted February 22, 2007 None that I am aware of. I could go and check out some of my favorite bands websites and see if anything is in the works.
Fierce Critter Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 My own full-length debut album. Possibly.
Homicidalheathen Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 I ordered the new Skinny Puppy and Infected Mushroom but they are not here yet.....damnit! Damnitdamnitdamnit!!!
MarsDustDoug Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 I ordered the new Skinny Puppy and Infected Mushroom but they are not here yet.....damnit! Damnitdamnitdamnit!!! mmmmmmmmm.... infected mushroom. I own everything they have touched. fav track ever... "Bust A Move"... with "Sailing the Sea Of Cheese" a close second. I really dug the Converting Vegetarians disc too! if you dg them I HIGHLY recommend Skazi and Wizzy noise. im a HUGE Goa/Psy freak. Used to travel to see shows because Detroit just never caught on... though we did have Growling Mad Scientists (GMS) here a few times. best show ever though is a toss up between Juno Reactor live and Simon Posford's (Hallucinogen) live sets. Downright killer stuff that even sover took me to a different place. /threadjack off
Homicidalheathen Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 Simon Posford is a god. Thanks for the info! I actually got to chat with Juno Reactor on myspace!
Wounds Within Posted February 27, 2007 Posted February 27, 2007 1) Guns N' Roses are finally going to release their new album before summer. According to Rolling Stone magazine, All the tracks are recorded and are now being mixed. This will most likely be another double album much like the Use Your Illusions, but it is unclear if it would be sold separately like the Illusions or if it would be a single 2 disc cd. 2) Ronnie James Dio is returning to Black Sabbath and that album should be out in April with a tour to follow. 3) The new Sevendust album comes out next week. 4) The mighy King Diamond has his album coming out just before summer. 5) Dethklok, the band from Cartoon Network's "Metalocalypse" will have an album out this season. 6) Megadeth's new album "United Abominations" comes out May 8th. 7)Judas Priest's new album "Nostradamus" will be out in the spring 8) Ozzy Osbourne will have a new album out just before the free Ozzfest begins. 9) Metallica is said to have a new album that is nameless so far. Although I am not really anticipating this album, my Metallica days are long gone. I do find it interesting though. Other releases will include: Type O Negative, Opeth, Mudvayne, Static-X, Shadows Fall, Nightwish, Iced Earth, Behemoth, Devil Driver, Dimmu Borgir, Mayhem, Soilwork, Naglfar, and Fear factory. Looks to be a good metal year.......hopefully. Good times

Looking forward to playing a lot of good stuff at City Club and Necto most looking forward to: keef baker. redeye. cd. february2k7 Released via Hymen Records Germany born in widnes and living in leeds, uk keith 'keef' baker has been writing music under various names since 1989. starting out in death metal bands and moving into indie and jazz, keef became a session bassist and also a computer game musician. over the years, he learned to play various instruments including bass, keyboard, guitar, drums, mandolin, sitar and double bass. however he rediscovered music through bands such as skinny puppy, test dept and autechre in the early to mid-90s which was when his attention turned to more electronic music. through the years this music has mutated into a cross breed of influences. in his' own words, the 'keef baker' project started as a cross between gridlock, somatic responses, venetian snares and tri repetae period autechre. 'i have expanded (these influences) to include a lot more including dub, jazz, bits of metal, funk, post-rock, straight drum & bass, indie-rock and the like. not in an attempt to break new ground but in an attempt to write the kind of music i'd like to listen to. if new ground ends up being broken on the way then all the better. redeye has took nearly 2 1/2 years to write, the earliest track on it dates back to around june/july '04 and the latest to around nov '06. redeye refers to two things, one being an old fashioned term for whiskey and the other referring to the feeling of tiredness that i've had for quite some time.' the uniqueness of keef's musical talent can be described in mixing the above mentioned influences without breaks within one single track. melodic idm, drum & bass patterns, breakcore effect usage and sampling weirdness endorse each other, the changing of rhythms totally make sense, the different moods keep the listener in a permanent state of positive tension. a perfect symbiosis of electronic and acoustic instruments ('tombola thrill killer' with its embedded electric bass might be an example). the quality of the production is just stunning: clear, powerful and transparent. this is one of these albums you will listen to dozens of times and you always find some new details - the time it took to finish 'redeye' is obvious on every note. The snippets I've heard are really cool.
