Is there a word for the group of guys that I hate the most?

They're like hippies, but they don't smoke enough weed, they typically speak more intelligently and their wardrobe is much different.

They're not emo exactly either, while their demeanor may be similiar, their hairstyle and taste in music is much different.

They are skinny-to-slightly-chubby white guys with beards, (patchy beards), but still beards. They are always very nice and never venture an uncouth joke or make any sort of concrete statement. They usually wear mono-color hoodies and either khakis or worn blue jeans. They sip tea and only have a beer or two at parties. They know a few chords on acoustic guitars and play "alternative" rock songs that were played to death back during early to mid-ninties radio. They are somewhat well-read, but only in that they read one poem by, say, Yeats... only one... but then claim during coffee house conversations "oh yeah, well, I'm really into Yeats..." They are not so ignorant as to mispronounce his name, however. Girls who want to be seen as "artsy" or "not shallow like those blonde bimbos" go fucking nuts over these men. They see them as deep and poetic and, strangely enough... original. These girls will watch these boys at parties on someone's deck, strumming their guiter with that placid smile on their bearded faces and the girls will think... wow, I'm in love. But the guy never hits on anyone, he waits to be alone on a couch with her and "get to know what she's really like, deep down".

Favorite movies are: "Garden State" and "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind"

Favorite music is: "Jack Johnson" and "The Shins"

ABOVE ALL: COLLEGE STUDENT!

Any help in providing a name for this breed of enemy of mine would be greatly appreciated.

I think that compared to them mods are cool. Don't get me wrong, they both suck and are terribly unoriginal. But one actually requires effort to look that ridiculous and I suppose I have a meager respect for at least that fact.

the only traits you've listed that really suck, in my opinion, are the pretension about literature and lack of creativity concerning the music they play. that makes them "poseurs," at least.

everything else you said is more or less a matter of taste, and it's not cool to judge people on that. you have to find your own VIBE, man, and we can live in a harmonious world...

Thanks... I've loved it since I was a cub, when I used to play my parent's "Hair" soundtrack all the time. Wanted to do the whole thing including the "what a piece of work..." part but thought it would be too long.
