I got this e-mail from Saephyr regarding her surgery:

The SCS procedure was a nightmare.

In short I let them operate on me, stick the rods in my back, zap

me over & over to try and find my pelvis since the laptop that works

the rods that were in my back, doesn't know EXACTLY where MY pelvis is

so they have to test and retest the rods making tingling and such

to hit the right spot. I'd be in the operating room on my tummy and they'd find it

and when I would sit up in the recovery room and they'd do the same thing,

they never hit the right spot. They couldn't figure out why. I let them put me

under AGAIN to move the rods. Then try again yesterday. After 5 hours of

feeling like I was being punched in the body by Mike Tyson I told them to

stop what they were doing.

They asked if I would go home and rest overnight and then return today so

that they might move the rods AGAIN and have it work. SO I agreed today to

let them do it all over leaving the rods in my body overnight. Jin & I went back at 10am

I underwent the same procedure from 10am until 4pm and they never got it to

work unless I was lying on my belly in the operating room for some odd reason.

SO in short...it never worked the way it was supposed to. I was told it would take

up to 40 minutes to install and then I could do whatever I wanted except shower,

until Friday and come back and just have the 'trial' version taken out so that it was a

sure fire thing and they could install a permanent one in my back at a later date.

The horrid thing is that it hurt so bad at times I was literally screaming. I went thru

it all for nothing as a result and it actually felt terrific when they got it to work in the

O.R. and I was really happy that I would be off of all the drugs risking me kidney

stones all over again. Now, I can only hope that welfare decides that I can get my

cervix removed to stop THAT pain at least. The SCS was going to be later used to

TRY and stop my headaches and all the other pain as well! Now I have NOTHING

to look forward to so that this can end!

So now I'm bruised all over from the inside out from the ribs down into the butt and I'm not allowed to bend, lift anything over 5 pounds, or twist and turn for a while. ALSO I have to walk with my cane. Not by choice, but docs orders. Until something else can happen

to help me out.

Just in case you wondered what Jin & I have been doing for the past few days....that was it!

HOLY GOD HELP ME I hurt.

Time for a huge dose of Methadone & Vicodin and rest while we visit and she stays 'ancy' per her usual mode since she's used to always doing something in her home or for the kids and such. I'll take her back to Lansing tomorrow and then I'll come home to veg out totally.

I just wanted to relay the story so I wouldn't have to recite it over & over again in the next

few days. I know you care and were curious so...that's it for me.
