The Fire Rose by Mercedes Lackey ... 1st time reading this author so I have no clue about their style of writing. But I would recommend all of Sally Beauman's books they are fantastic!!!!! She has one series that goes together.. Lovers and Liars, Danger Zones, Deception and Desire. Destiny, Rebeca's Tale and Landscape of Love are just some of her novels.. HAPPY READING!! :D

Still working on:

The Words We Live by: Your Annotated Guide To The Constitution.

It is taking forever to finish. Not because its a hard read, just because every half a page i have to stop and ponder the implications of whats being sad and how misconstrued a lot of this stuff has been in my mind due to basically learning it all sort of second-hand through various media quotes and such.

I just ordered three books that should be here in a day or two; Soul Music by Terry Pratchett and Nostradamus Ate My Hamster by Robert Rankin...

...but the one I will read first is Smashed, Squashed, Splattered, Chewed, Chunked and Spewed by Lance Carbuncle. Promises to be a twisted, sick, disturbing, hillarious ride! I.Can't.Wait!!! Plus, Carbuncle has asked me to email him with my thoughts after I finish reading it. I feel so special... along with all of his other MySpace friends! LOL

Can I borrow the one by Carbuncle when you are done with it? It sounds VERY interesting!

Ack! I'm reading a couple of books on Security + certification. Needles in the eyes would definitely be more thrilling.

Shouldn't be a problem. I was delivered yesterday :animier: I've only had a chance to read the Foreward, and that was damn funny. Bodes well for the rest of the book me thinks!

Definitely something you should consider. That cert holds some weight. After I get that one I'll be studying for the CISSP cert. That one will probably take me a year or so to study for and I'm counting on needing to purchase several test prep cd's to really try and prepare for the exam.

good info....I'll keep that in mind :)

Letter to a Christan Nation by Sam Harris (the quotes on that page there are interesting food for thought.

Being the follow up and sort of Readers Digest version of his more comprehensive (and widely praised) End of Faith; which really probably would be more accurately titled "The End of Dogma". With Richard Dawkins saying "I dare you to read this book, read it if its the last thing you do" I'm sort of compelled to read it. Hah. Its a short book, more of a novella or essay than a "book" per-se. I dont agree with everything he says but its really important stuff that needs to be discussed. Luckily i see hope in the large sales of such recent books that people actually give a damn about such issues.

Gaiman is most definately at the top of my list right now. It's my current goal to read thru all of his works.

The Mole People, for the 100th time, by Jennifer Toth.

It's nonfiction, about people who live underneath NYC (homeless), the drama of their lives and the communities they form and then rip apart. I was homeless for 4 years as a young adult so it's a topic close to my heart. highly recommend.
