"Natasha's Dance : A Cultural History of Russia"

"Equal Rites" by Terry Pratchett *yay!*

Still reading Franz Bardons Initiation into Hermetis and am starting to think some of the claims he has about people developing so far on the 'program' is kinda out there, way out there.

For the past week I've been re-reading (i.e. skipping thru) The Urth of the New Sun by Gene Wolfe & Araminta Station by Jack Vance. Given up on starting anything new till after school's out... blessedly soon, tomorrow's the last day with kids, then after Monday I'm Freeeee! Things have been so crazy, I haven't even looked at the new Shonen Jump. =(

I have just finished Hyperion and Fall of Hyperion by Dan Simmons.

Then, I read War of the Flowers by Tad Williams. And also Good Omens.

I am now reading Sandman by Neil Gaiman.

And also Good Omens.

Terry Pratchett is full of so much goodness... he's like the Douglas Adams of sci-fantasy.

Right now, I'm working on The Story of O by Pauline Reage. Classic bondage erotica. It's really interesting, actually, the similarites between this and what I can remember of "Eyes Wide Shut" regarding the societal house. yum.

Imagica-Clive Barker.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

that is, quite possibly, my most FAVORITE clive barker book EVER. And considering he's my favorite author, that's saying a lot, cause I love all of his books, even the ones I wasn't thrilled by. I wanted to live that book so bad... I used it as imagination fodder for a long time in high school. Oh the horribly poetry and drawings it birthed.

I was wondering if you ever got around to tackling Anciet Evenings~ Is quite an interesting take on Egyptian culture...though of course Mailer is a dirty old man...hehe!

Yes... There is like 3 sex scenes every chapter, and only like a 3rd into the book is there actually one that doesn't involve rape or a family member.

Posted

Which volume are you on? That series had a huge influence on me... totally changed the way I thought about art, Story, & many other things.

Unforgettable line from Ancient Evenings: "I was tired of the smell that rose from the buttocks of men weaker than myself..." What an incredible degenerate-fest!

Don't think I like her writing much. We will see if the end is worth it.
