Limburger Cheese

So, let me guess. Some cheese maker in Belgium got cheezed off at the rest of the world, and decided to play a very, very sick joke.

I got some today, always wanted to try it. Figured it couldn't really smell THAT bad. And even if it did, then it must be some hella tasty cheese to be able to get past the smell and eat it.

So yes, the smell is bad. I opened the silver foil outside, and it was still wrapped in 2 layers of paper. Just smelling it through that was reminiscent of butthole. (I KNOW I'm not the only person who knows what BUTTHOLE smells like, so don't EVEN.)

So I get it fully open. And man, I gotta make sure NOT to smell it. Figure, "This better be some damned good cheese to make up for the smell."

And I put a small bite in my mouth.

And immediately, let it fall back out of my mouth, onto the table, looked for a place to quickly spit the very small crumb that was still in my mouth, ran to the bathroom, washed my mouth out repeatedly with hot water, and seriously - SERIOUSLY - considered rinsing my mouth with liquid soap. I wanted the taste out of my mouth that bad.

Some lemonade did the trick (didn't want toothpaste in my mouth, it would ruin the rest of the cheese-plate experience).

Seriously, how in fuck does ANYONE eat this???

"Limburger Cheese" is actually a trade name for a brand of synthetic bait. They call it cheese to see how many people they can sucker into eating it.

Best April Fool's gag ever, in my opinion.

If you put a plate in front of me on Fear Factor, even without maggots or cow eyeballs or some otherwise unpalatable additive, I still probably would have to pass on the $50,000.

It's THAT BAD.
