This is like the 3rd myspace thread.

How did you "discover" it?

I agree that sites like MySpace and Friendster are a great way to connect w/ new people as well as to re-connect w/ old pals. I met some new friends via Friendster when I lived in New Orleans. I also ran into some old friends from college and high school that I'd lost touch w/ over the years.

oops..sorry if it has been brought up before..

Actually, from the "music finds" thread people posted links to various musician's "my space" sites. Then, one of my friends sent me an invite.

It's actually pretty cool. It has advertisements, but nothing too obnoxious.

Seems I've posted my link elsewhere on this board, but it is here:

I primarily use it for music networking. It is a fantastic idea for a site, and it seems everyone on the planet has an account there.

I just added myself to "My Space", and I would like to know how I can change the layout of my profile, and how do I add all of you who are already on it to my friends list?

You can change the layout of the profile by using HTML/CSS stuff. More info on how it works with MySpace programming can be found here

For adding to friend's list, you find the profile of the person yer looking for and on the left side, there's a box with some choices on how to interact with them. Select "Add as friend" which will send an email to that person to confirm the friending.

As far as finding people goes, you can do it either by searching for a specific name or email address using the search function at the menu across the top of the page, or you can surf through who people have connected as friends a la Friendster.
