Does anyone have a disk they can loan me? Right now, we have Linux. I'm really hating it. It's just..........BAD. I'd prefer XP, but won't bitch if it's something else. I just cannot STAND this OS anymore....

The software really isnt the problem, its the activation code. (which i dont have a spare one of) hopefully scary can hook u up.

I just can't seem to get used to Linux. I really tried, SG. I keep trying to like it for the sake of my son, who installed it.

It takes getting used to. Different command interface, syntax, and file system are the largest speed bumps in the learning curve. My advice is to make a partition and have it dual boot windows or linux. Gives your kid a new project and makes you both happy.

O.k. I don't usually tell someone they should pirate software.

But take my situation. Have a perfectly legal eMachine that came with a perfectly legal copy of XP. Never used, was in perfect condition, stored properly, etc.

So I'm having so much trouble with this PC, the only option really left to me is a full factory restore. No problem, right?

I spend days transferring all my files to an external hard drive. Make sure everything is ready to go. I pop in that CD and start the restore.

And after about 5 all-nighters trying to get it to work, along with the generous help of a DGN'er tecchie with MOUNTAINS of patience, the bottom line is - the disk is corrupted and totally unuseable.

Fuck it.

So I open up Bitcomet and snag this.

It works - perfectly. PER. FECT. LY.

Up to you. But with one change. Screw Bitcomet. I use Azureus Vuze now. MUCH faster.

OK I lied about the ram, it's only 512 MB but I do plan to upgrade soon.

I heard Marc only had a floppy disk though

would any of the ladies here care if i sniffed their packets?

I like to fsck all night too.
