Not counting the restricted use forums. (SSF, 2 Staff Forums, The Trash)

My vote is DGN business. Obviously the restricted stuff is the most useless (because one doesn't have access).

I'd throw in other stuff into the introductions forum and get rid of that too.

i voted dgn business, cuz it's been useless as of late.

if that dgn cd project got started up again it could probably be stickied under "music." and stuff about promotional things like the dgn myspace or business cards or what not would probably fit into the welcome forum. that seems like a catch-all for "official" stuff which is only right and good cuz everybody looks at it.

I would have to agree... untill I get my crap together... there is no point

Surprised some people picked quizzes and polls.

True most of the polls are "mindless" but there are some of value.

I find that they're a waste of bandwidth usually. Also I don't see the need for a separate polls forum if a poll is related to another forum it should just stay there. But at least it keeps all the stupid quizzes in one place.

I voted quizzes and polls because I'd rather individual polls be under their respective topics.

I voted for the one I never check...buisness...

I agree with you in spirit and thought basically the same thing when we were first setting up all the different forums.

Some people wouldn't even think to make a quiz/poll if there wasn't a specific forum for it. Gives people something to do. Often the more brain-dead posts allow timid users to get used to throwing their two cents in and it can be a bridge between a timid non-poster and an active user. Also, the "mindless" polls/quizzes can spam up decent forums pretty rapidly. Figure its better to have them quarentened off in their own little section.

I have toyed with the idea of making polls enabled everywhere and removing this section though. Or, enabling polls for people that wont abuse them to make wise-ass spam. Although benefactors should be able to make polls in all forums... for some reason i cant get it to work properly.

Despite the fact that i personally like more ... lets call them "academic" subjects, i don't think DGN needs to be just about serious things. If people want to ramble on about random stuff.. be my guest.

Your Creations!

boo!! "your creations" = not useless at all!

Posted

Creations is an excellent forum and the polls forum is always popular and active.

The 'other' forum is good for odds and ends type topics and the rest of the forums serve a purpose except for dgn business....that one seems to have run a ground almost as fast as it was created and hasn't recovered.

Really it depends on the creation.

If I seem to have an attitude it's because I'm at that awkward stage in life between birth and death.

LOL

It seems almost as if once a forum is created they become liked by at least someone and are hard to get rid of. Generally forum-creation philosophy says that you create a forum too encourage discussion about a range of subjects. But, try very hard not to create any forums that will have very little use, as the posts that go into the "little used" forum basically become dead. No one wants to eat in an empty restaurant. Meanwhile these same dead-posts could have encouraged discussion / commentary if they were not posted in a "dead" forum that could just as easily be folded into existing forums.

I like the "Creations" forum. I've seen some pretty talented stuff going on in there.

Damn fast service in an empty restaurant.

True, which is why I took phee's idea and started making my own results... Didn't mean to take your idea buddy, but the imagination just ran wild... I got it back now, after severly beating it and throwing it in "the tank", I've got it back under control...

...Also, everyone stopped posting quizes when I did the exploding head reply... poo..

It really didn't take off though till I started doing it like every quiz.
