An 'online media company' Zango, which gained notoriety for redirecting adult affiliate traffic and the first ever MySpace worm is now suing the anti-spyware vendor PC Tools, maker of an application called 'Spyware Doctor', for removing Zango applications off the consumers' PCs. 'According to a posting on a blog called Spamnotes.com, Zango is seeking at least $35 million in damages, alleging that Spyware Doctor removes Zango's software without warning users that it will be deleted. The lawsuit was filed Tuesday in King County Superior Court in Seattle, according to Spamnotes.com. Formerly known as 180solutions, Zango is trying to clean up its tarnished reputation. In November it paid $3 million to settle U.S. Federal Trade Commission charges that its software was being installed deceptively on PCs.

No the fact that they could win makes this the United States of America. Any other country would tar and feather the heads of Zango for being tools and wasting the courts time.

Yeah to me it seems more feasable that if it DIDN'T go to court, their constitutional rights would then be violated. I mean, they have the right to try to sue, but if they DO win, someone in our court system needs to be removed for possession and/or intent to use CRACK. But since it's corporation vs. corporation, it doesn't scream out government conspiracy to me or anything.

I agree what they're suing for is fucking retarded, it's a waste of everyone's time in the court, yet i still agree with the idea they have the right to sue. It's just retarded either way you look at it still. As far as I'm concerned, Zango IS spyware fo I never download it, yet it pops up on ocasion, and is a pain in the fucking ass to take off without a really effective spyware removal program (which i have now thankfully).

But i still stand by my last statement, if they win, I've lost all faith in our government for reasons being, how the hell could they let a person that stupid be a judge.

Yet the decision hasn't been made yet, so maybe zango will be put in their place.

If they win then we'll have to have the DGN Class Action Suit against Zango for installing the software without telling us it was going to be installed.

But they do tell you. Goddamn does no one read that bit of text known as the license agreement anymore (note, websites have these too, and upon accessing the site is automatic agreement)? Even with 180 solutions it probably existed as they have lawyers that draw it up to cover the companies ass.
