Homicidalheathen Posted June 20, 2007 Posted June 20, 2007 ..besides the music. Fashion! Yup, I actually miss something about 80's fashion.....which was....a total miss! TIGHT PANTS!!! Not on me, but on them! Men that is. I am sooo tired of seeing plummers crack on hot young guys. I don't care about your damn sperm count. JUST PUT ON THE TIGHT PANTS!! Today I looked at a construction worker wanting to see the nice, round form of his buns....but his pants were so loose it looked like he had taken a dump in them. Yup. I miss the 80's.
ManicQueen Posted June 20, 2007 Posted June 20, 2007 I recently watched a movie that makes me not miss the 80's.
Scary Guy Posted June 20, 2007 Posted June 20, 2007 I recently watched a movie that makes me not miss the 80's. But Ishtar was so far ahead of it's time!

CatsEyeOfTheWiccan Posted June 20, 2007 Posted June 20, 2007 Not everyone looks good in tight pants. Also, anyone remember parachute pants? All I think is McHammer and Vinila Ice wear those reducluse things.. -CatsEye
Homicidalheathen Posted June 20, 2007 Author Posted June 20, 2007 I went to noir recently with a guy looking for pants and all they had was skinny leg tight up to here stuff. Like, heroin addict rock star pants.
CatsEyeOfTheWiccan Posted June 20, 2007 Posted June 20, 2007 Tight Pants are fine, as long they breath right. -CatsEye
BrassFusion Posted June 20, 2007 Posted June 20, 2007 "I lived through the 80s and servied the 90s and now I am in the 2000s."-CatsEye that's a really great quote, aaron. you should absolutely trademark it

JaneDead Posted June 20, 2007 Posted June 20, 2007 i miss the 80's. bad fashion and all. it was my favorite time. if only there was internet in the 80's... it would have been the perfect time ever.

JaneDead Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 All I think is McHammer and Vinila Ice wear those reducluse things..-CatsEye those weren't exactly parachute pants that they wore, it's an entirely different thing
Fierce Critter Posted June 22, 2007 Posted June 22, 2007 i miss the 80's. bad fashion and all. it was my favorite time. if only there was internet in the 80's... it would have been the perfect time ever. Ditto that. Totally. I had such a blast my last couple years of high school, 85 and 86. I went new-wave and suddenly I was "cool". That wasn't the best part of it, but it didn't hurt. Cyndi Lauper-inspired fashions, a big, punked-out mullet, ankle boots, multiple earrings, Devo, Berlin, Scandal, Oingo Boingo, my first time at Rocky Horror, "air-band" contests, Purple Rain, learning the dance steps from videos by Mary Jane Girls, Morris Day and the Time ("The Bird" anyone?), jelly shoes, stirrup pants with long, belted tunics, Flashdance fashions, Adam Ant, Duran Duran, Luke & Laura, Lene Lovich, Thomas Dolby, hearing The Cure for the first time, rocking it out to "We Got The Beat" and "I Love Rock n Roll" singing lead in an all girl band called "Fantasia"... Man, I miss those times.
Fierce Critter Posted June 22, 2007 Posted June 22, 2007 I still have my jelly bracelets. Something like 50 of them in all different colors & shapes.
Gaf The Horse With Tears Posted June 22, 2007 Posted June 22, 2007 I sometimes miss the 80's. There wasn't such a risk of dieing from sex. The music was damn good.. I liked the clothes and there was always some new hair style you could laugh at or wish you had.
TygerLili Posted June 22, 2007 Posted June 22, 2007 I can't miss 80's fashion. It keeps popping up on people everywhere I look. Bright colors, off the shoulder tops, skirts and dresses over leggings, huge belts, spike heels, I even saw jellies in a store the other day. The 80s are back, people. I miss the 80s, but I think that's just because I was too young in the 80s to have had any real problems.
CatsEyeOfTheWiccan Posted June 22, 2007 Posted June 22, 2007 Yes, the 80s was a carefree decated..unfortaly sometimes fashion takes 180 when for young kids, saying this style is hip no matter if clothes or music. I miss the 80s Analog Synthesizer sounds came out and allot manufactures produced tons of synthesizer of company's that are no longer in business today. -CatsEye
Homicidalheathen Posted June 22, 2007 Author Posted June 22, 2007 I think its funny when people your age miss the 80's. What were you like, 5? What do you miss......pokemon? LOL! But I am impressed with some younger peoples taste in music in that some would rather listen to the inovative synth sounds of the 80's than todays canned R&B and whatnot.
Scary Guy Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 I think its funny when people your age miss the 80's. What were you like, 5? What do you miss......pokemon? LOL! You've got your decades mixed up. When I was 5 it was Voltron, GI-Joe, Transformers, etc... Or if you want to get technical with anime Fist of the North Star (although I don't think it was ever actually released here at that time).
