Troy Spiral (13) Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 I was a huge Transformers huge fan when i was wee. Although it quickly converted to RobotTech and then to Anime in general. Kinda annoying that I'm told this is anime-esque. I like anime, but transformers aint anime god damnit!! (at least old school transformers aint) Not that i'll let that ruin it for me, i get over such things fairly quickly. And i like "this type of stuff (hardcore sci fi)" I played a "transformers song" on that techno show i had to do last week. I'll see this eventually, since my financial situation (and health) situation usually makes it so i don't get much "real" movie intake. Blowing $20+ dollars for 1 flick is a rare occurrence (like anyone goes to the movies by themselves and gets no food, sacrilegious.) Werner Herzog has a new film out and you guys are talking about Transformers? What the fuck ever. He does? I thought he died in like 2000. If there is thats pretty huge. Kinda shows you how good a job "The Coproration" has done brainwashing us all into being totally focused on the pop-culture dancing bears for the last 50 years.
Jadis Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 Odims and I went last night. It was so awesome... I'm glad he agreed to see it a second time. Such a great movie.
CixWicked Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 I am sooooo broke right now, its unbelievable, but this is one of those movies i WILL see and it WILL be in the theaters... I dont care if i have to start selling grandmas..... Ya know, I been -looking- for a grandma....?
BrassFusion Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 I'm getting pissed now. I have to see this movie. ESPECIALLY since everybody at work talks about it and half the shit we sell has Transfomers on it. And... Werner Herzog... didn't he make that horribly stupid "Grizzly Man" movie about that punkass who didn't deserve the posthumous limelight? THAT guy's for sure dead, but I never heard anything about Werner...

crunchy_pickle (5) Posted July 19, 2007 Posted July 19, 2007 Not to threadjack... but I thought the film Grizzly Man was brilliant I'm kinda wondering what he's done since last year's release? Something new is seriously out?
savageminstrel Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 I saw it twice.... it was tits... both times..... hehe... seriously, I thought they took a kids cartoon and turned it into a good movie.
jadnifer Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 Saw it the night it came out....didnt think that I would like it because I was never really into the cartoon...but Im glad that I went. I loved the comedic parts especially when the guy and girl were in the car and the car kept playing certain songs at the exact right moment. Awesome! I wound recommend it to anyone!
Troy Spiral (13) Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 Bizarrely my DAD asked me to go see this. He knows nothing about transformers, but said he thought the commercial looked cool and for some odd reason wanted to go out. He and i never do SHIT together. Was really out of the blue, but even though i was feeling sick i kinda wanted to see it , but more so wanted to hang out with the old man for once. Definitely a "fun" popcorn movie. Don't expect old school transformers, nor anything remotely "realistic sci fi" or Artsy or you'll be pissed off. Its just a fun teenager popcorn blockbuster sci fi movie as intended.
CandyQuackenbush Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 prolly my favorite plane, er... well basically a huge cannon with wings. and the fact that one of these was a transformer was awesome: I have a buddy who is actually operating this bad boy in iraq. it's only job is to find IED's and dispose of them. It's called a Buffalo, and they are a pain in the ass when you have to recover them after the IED finds them.
CandyQuackenbush Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 I saw it in Balad, with some guys from my convoy crew. It was fucking sweet. I don't care what anyone says, I am still Optimus Prime. I can do the swing around in my truck...*if it wasn't a P.O.S* For an Iraqi Theather, not bad. Seats alittle uncomfy, but hey, I could care less.

Dude, this movie totally rocked, and I wish to hell I could've gone to see it with my Dad. Don't ever take that shit for granted brother. We have sunshines today, and storms tomorrow. I miss every moment I had with my father whether it was playing catch, going on vacation, or just eating a burger and watching him read his book. We had a lot of great talks and a lot of good times, but damn I wish I could've known how short my time with him was when I was angry for all of those years. I miss him so fucking much it hurts man. Treasure moments like this, because you won't have them forever. I'm sure my Dad would've loved this movie. The special effects were badass, as was the storyline in my opinion. It might not be the old school, but the new school was pretty impressive.
