Fierce Critter Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 Buying a place in line and a piece of hyped-up sure-to-be-full-of-bugs technology: $1400. My fully-functioning Motorola i730, Frankensteined together from two bought with different problems from yard sales: $15 Not being a sheep who places undue importance to an overpriced piece of overhyped technology: Priceless. I. hate. people. And this is a prime example of why.
Gaf The Horse With Tears Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 Seems they have a tendancy to up and die after a few days use... and they get hot enoough to fry eggs on...
Msterbeau Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 Tried one in the store. The interface rocked! But I won't be paying $600 for one any time soon. The deal with ATT was boneheaded....
know_buddy_kares Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 I'm glad her plan backfired, that was halarious!!!! Stuck up chick thought she was going to rape people for their money hahahaha. And I gotta agree with fierce critter about people's misplaced feelings of importance on inatimate objects. I really want a Wii so very bad still, but I'm not going to pay anything over $200 for one. As far as phone's go. No phone is worth over $200 to pay. And no plan should go past $80 a month IMO. Who in their right mind would want to shell out that much money for a phone anyway. They sell fully functional desktops with more bells and whistles than that phone for $600.. like come on people, JUST BUY A FUCKING COMPUTER ALREADY, YOU DON'T NEED TO CHECK YOUR DAMN E-MAIL WHILE DRIVING. I so can't wait to see that be a problem in accidents... you know people are gonna do it.
Gaf The Horse With Tears Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 Business peaple do it all the time. Smart Phones running Windows Mobile, Blackberrys and the like. Ofcourse, you cant check a corperate email account with an iPhone... so it will just be trendy Mac users checking thier oh so important spam.
Hellion Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 I would rather have the phone/internet package that I have,$39 +59,a month let alone I can switch my sim card from my phone to my air card, and use my laptop,I-Phone = a waste of money, and considering its still in experimental stage right now,I am happy with what I have now.IMO.
Msterbeau Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 Windows mobile is kludge compared to the iPhone OS. I should know... I have a phone with one.
Fierce Critter Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 Damn. Can't believe what some people are paying for using a phone. I never go above my minutes, at $39.99 a month. Heh. Guess I just don't know that many people. Anyway, I hate being on the phone. I'd rather get together face-to-face.
Guest Megalicious Posted July 7, 2007 Posted July 7, 2007 this is how I feel about the Iphone .. poo.
Gaf The Horse With Tears Posted July 7, 2007 Posted July 7, 2007 I have a Smartphone running Windows Moble 5. I played with a iPhone today.. It was a neat toy for trendy people. I'd rather stick with a phone that allowes me to do my business along with fucking off and listending to music. The heat they generate is what scares me the most though. Electronics and heat dont mix.

Neptunebaby Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 I have to admit.. I really do want an iPhone, but I won't pay that much for one. Well, I would if I didn't have a family and other responsibilities. I'm a mac girl, so it's definitely something I would love to have. What people are paying/doing to get them is absurd though.

Neptunebaby Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 Yay! Another Mac user... Meg, Rayne and I are feeling pretty lonely these days... PC's are for shit. It's not a computer if it's not a Mac.
Head Wreck Posted July 15, 2007 Author Posted July 15, 2007 i love mac's but its just to convienient to build my own PC out of scraps and i know the systems better. i miss my mac though. as with everything apple though. i'll wait for third gen and avoid first gen like the plague. i'm a realist.

Yes, a definite rule - always avoid the first gen.
Gaf The Horse With Tears Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 PC's are for shit. It's not a computer if it's not a Mac. Um, all the insides of a Mac are exactly the same thing as in a PC... The big differeance anymore is the OS and Mac's severe limitations on what hardware your allowed to use.

Some people would rather have reliability over being able to use any damn piece of hardware. People go back and forth over this. Their all just different compromises. And you keep saying the OS is different like it's nothing. The OS is what you interact with. Like tires are to a car. It's a huge part of the equation.

I wasn't going to get into a big debate my first day back from the grave.

Rayne Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 Yay! Another Mac user... Meg, Rayne and I are feeling pretty lonely these days... Finally! I have found a laptop I don't have to replace once a year! Seriously, 4 Windows based laptops in 4 years (top of the line too at the time they were purchased) ... had this one (a MacBook bought brand new in October) for 8 months without a single issue! By now I was hauling the others back to Best Buy to be shipped out or replaced about 4 times by now ... That's all good if you can fork out $1500 for a laptop every year ... and deal without it for half the year because it's being worked on ... but why not pay the same and not be without it, unless you accidently leave it at home ...
