......there is no way your paying for that yourself. I do. Or I see the same and its some old guy who never gets it up past 50mph what a waste.

My hood is sooo ghetto sometimes. People will go out and buy a car for their kid that costs half their frickin mortgage. I live in a shack but I drive a cadillac! Oh and don't forget those pimped out rims.

My favorite thing ever was when I saw spinner rims on a tempo.

I swear, only in LA or Detroit. I go down 8 mile and see dollar stores....chicken shacks.....all these cheap run down buisnesses.....so obviously people there can't afford as much but.......there is this HUGE warehouse size store of JUST RIMS. The whole thing, just rims.

Around here we have auto parts stores and garages selling rims.......but only in Detroit have I seen a whole store just for rims. Pimpin'.

When I was a kid,

it was "the thing to do" if you had a souped up Camaro with the ass end jacked into the sky,

with big tires out back and little ones up front.

Then came the advent of loud stereos.

Suddenly,

it became "cool" and or more important to have a loud,

powerful stereo in the car, instead of a loud, powerful engine.

The cool car hobby has deteriorated alot since then, like HH was sayin. I can remember many times sayin; "Damn, that stereo costed more then the damn car!"

Now,

its; "them damn rims cost more then the car or the stereo!"

What alot of people who have those rims don't realize is,

that a big rim with a short tire,

causes the ride quality to suffer.

They also don't realize that those big rims are in danger of being damaged when they drive on them cuz,

they are closer to the road with those short tires on them.

I would hate to spend 2 grand on a set of rims and then hit a speed bump or a curb,

and bend a rim lolol.

This,

is yet another ridiculous trend that I am sooo glad to Not be a part of.

low profile tyres are meant for decent road surfaces.

some of the roads i saw while i was over were in apauling condition.

i like stealth cars.

cars with performance potential but look like ordinary run of the mill.

to many overdane body kist on 1.2 3cyl cars here

There were a few times I thought my car was going to be swallowed whole.

the funny thing is, alot of these souped up rice rocket cars, my truck makes more power then they do, and I haven't really done anything to my truck lol.

but you cant go as fast. Your geared and tuned for tourqe.. which means you can pull/haul more weight but your limited on your speed.

hmmn, a souped up honda vs My Dodge Ram 4x4 5.7 Hemi...Ive got 3.92's out back. I'd give'em a run if I tried. I don't street race though.

agree with gaf.

besides

on a rule yank-tanks dont like corners and corners is where the fun is

rice rocket over yank tank any day tbh

you might have a point there HW.

But my truck gets up and goes just fine.

I guess my driving needs have changed.

I don't need to drive through corners at 90 mph.

I get the last laugh in the winter though.

when there's a snowstorm goin on, and the roads, especially hilly roads,

are covered with 3 inches of snow, and the rice rockets get stuck or skid off to the side,

I just drive on by in my 4x4.

i drive a french compact. i coped quite well as i've actually looked into what to do differant in snow.

you'd be suprised how many dont, last snow i saw a cople people wreck thier 4x4's through dumbarseness. one guy had a ram also and managed to slide it sideways down a hill into the back of a council flatbed truck belonging to a workparty clearing roads.

oh the irony as i toddled past in my little pug

HH, depends on the car. Most muscle cars were built for drag racing... which is straight line.. but some.. like the Dodge Charger, for an example, were designed for corners. Long slow corners.. but thats whats on a race track for the most part. Camaros and Firebirds can corner with the best rice rocket.

HH, thats because people get it in thier heads that 4x4 means "ultra" traction in all circumstance... and forget that 4x4 means notta when on ice.

The best of all worlds. A rally car.

Well, all bets are off if ice is a factor. Of course vehicle choice is nullified when the person is driving like a an asshat. I've learned how to drive in winter, and in my truck, using safe driving methods, my truck is like a rolling fortress.

I don't usually think 'spoiled brat' when I see some youngster in a modded-out car. I'm sure a lot of them have the work done by other people, but just as many put time and effort into making their car that way, even if it is on the parents' dime, and I can at least respect the effort they put into it (even if, in many cases, it's something I'd never do to my car).

No, when it comes to cars, I tend to think 'spoiled brat' immediately when it's some 19-year-old college student tooling around in a brand-new BMW that Mummy and Daddy just bought for their precious little angel.

Or, even moreso, when some little snotnosed highschooler has a beamer.

You know that's funny because I was just telling my buddy Tim earlier how there's only 2 people I envied in this world. Ironically, it's amnesiacs and people who live in third world countries, and it's for what they don't have.....

For those of you that would say life would suck pretty bad in the latter case, consider this. Imagine being completely unaware that there is something better than hunting, gathering, and reproducing.....

hm simplicity eh? Too bad they got a hobby other than what you mentioned, most the people who don't have shit have one thing... wars... if you check it out, there's always a few hornet's nests going on in africa and other countries around aisa.
